People smoking literally in the doorways of public buildings. In and out through a cloud of second hand smoke.

Only 8.20 and already 3 TAs. First was I had to get up at 6.30 to pee. Decided to go back to bed. Got up again at 7.50 because I thought I heard a knock on the door. It was just the wind. To top it all I woke up with a raging thirst.

A local woman who fancies herself as a bit of a mover and shaker posted a few photos of a gala dinner held last night to 'represent the people of Gaza' with one of the more prominent anti-establishment TD's the guest of honour. Israel must be quaking in their boots!

The thing is, if it came to it, 90% of those socialist socialites wouldn't take in Gazan refugees nor get their hands dirty with actual aid work, especially the one who made sure to be prominent in all the photos.

All about the fancy frocks and champagne ending the conflict.

little lazy gobshîte freak of a neighbour, despite the severe storm warnings ALL over the media… did the little tosser do anything that would be helpful for her neighbours ? …nope, wooden side gate left unsecured all night as usual and left slamming into the wall…. again… I was that fûcked tired I wasn’t awake for too long but since I have woken, all morning and afternoon so far… slam…slam…slam…slam…slam

When I get lunch I’m going to have to engage in some McGyver style tresspass & DIY workaround…. Tempted to go in and take the fücking thing off the hinges.

I’ll never again take for granted having smart, kind, considerate, friendly and thoughtful neighbours….instead of this absolute dîckhead and her little mates.

TA #1 that it is so windy here I had to barricade the shed doors to stop them blowing off.

TA #2 is that OH is away so can't even help me

TA #3 is that he was away for Storm Isha as well!

TA #4 is that I had a nice, relaxed weekend planned but instead I'm glued to the back window nervously watching the shed in case it takes off 😭

Visiting parents this weekend. Always a busy couple of days. Things went without a hitch (first time in quite a while). All jobs done and was waiting for dishwasher to finish cycle. Plan was to empty it & then drive home. Opened door & pulled out top drawer. A tupperware container had flipped and was full of water which then spilled all over the floor. Had to mop it up & wait for floor to air dry as I was afraid my parents would slip on it - would be devastating for either at this time of their lives. Delayed leaving by an hour & twenty minutes which is the exact length of the journey.

TA when you see the car coming up behind you on a sunny day has its fog lights on you just know its going to try and overtake come what may.

Wake me up when it's all over.

The incessant announcements in Lidl that "Till number 2 is now closing", followed a few minutes later by "Till number 2 is now opening". Rinsed and repeated all day long. Wrecks my head.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,237 ✭✭✭The Continental Op

Staff must just switch off to it after a while. Probably why when you hear "Till number 2 is now opening" it takes so long for someone to turn up.

Wake me up when it's all over.

Just when I think the weather is finally starting to improve it turns into a dull grey pi$$fest once again. The wettest Spring in ages.

I had that yesterday in Aldi. As I walked towards the till, "Till number 2 is now closing" leaving till number 1 open. Three or four minutes later, there were three tills open. 🙄 Make up yer minds!!

Some of us taller people have to keep our heads constantly at an angle when upstairs when moving upstairs in a double-decker, so standing isn't really an option there. 😄

I literally cannot remember the last time it wasn't raining of some sort during one of my post routes.

Massive TA constantly having to dry work clothes on an neverending cycle.

Yeah, last week there were a few maintenance jobs I wanted to do on my bike, and everyday I'd leave the bike outside, chilling out for a bit before getting to it. Everyday, by the time I got out out, it was raining or had been raining. Actually, it was usually the rain patting on the window to remind me that the bike was still outside.

I mean, who knew…in Ireland…that this sort of thing could happen?!?

needed to call the passport office with an enquiry…. 12 minutes on hold.

Attempted to use the webchat thing on their site while on hold… but just get this thing…

so you don’t even have the opportunity to get put in a Q. Just…. ‘Please try again later’.

Is it 1997 all over again with our public services ? Can’t get any of them on the phone and can’t even get a spot on a webchat Q. 🤦🏻‍♂️
