Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I have tried ordering it for 280 twice and hasn't worked but did take money from my account.

    Oh Vodafone, please never change.

Last time it took me about week to get one of their offers, complete shambles of a website.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 245 ✭✭joficeduns1

Really is a great price. I saw it at €179.99 but took too long to load, the website really struggles.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 245 ✭✭joficeduns1

Is it likely that the price was originally €379 and they're reducing it by €100? Seems to be too steep a discount really.

Got the 3a for crazy cheap thanks to this forum (my Galaxy was struggling) is there much of a difference camera wise in the 4a?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,741 ✭✭✭Klingon Hamlet

    €279 here

The 4a supports WiFi calling which the 3a doesn't (with Vodafone anyways)

Are these unlocked to all networks?

Are these unlocked to all networks?

    Unlikely.

    Edit: I stand corrected.

    Unlikely.

    They are unlocked.

Tried ordering a 4a two weeks ago from the Vodafone website. No email confirmation received, no shipping updates sent. Had to get in touch with support who said the order had gone wrong and was cancelled (not that they were going to be proactive and tell me).

Still awaiting the €350 to be returned to my account. Their website is a mess, you can't even order a case and the phone in the same checkout flow. Won't go near them again no matter how low they sell it for.

All google phones are unlocked !

All google phones are unlocked !

Nope. However, these ones likely are since the 3As were.

  • Registered Users Posts: 134 ✭✭112143

The 4a definitely comes unlocked from Vodafone.

Have you emailed/online chatted with them? You can use charge back with Visa/MasterCard to claim a refund if you can show they're not cooperating.

Could it be you are logged into your account and getting the price for being a customer

Jumps between 179 and 279, but always 279 when added to the basket🀬

  • Registered Users Posts: 843 ✭✭✭skydish79

Do you have to port over to Vodafone to avail of the offer?

It's a mistake. Yes it says 179 but when you get to cart it goes to 279 unfortunately.

Who here has got it for 179? No one...

Can anyone get it for 280 even? I haven't succeeded anyway.

Bearing in mind it was €350 until a week ago its unlikely it'll dop that low so soon.
I planned to get it for my nephew for his birthday if it was on sale but couldn't wait any longer so got a cheap Samsung a41 on adverts, I'll be pissed if it drops to €179 now.

Shockingly bad. Their CEO is more interested in virtue signalling about diversity matters than sorting a proper website.

Went to site tonight to order a new sim and the option to order replacement sim kept disappearing off screen regardless of browser. Eventually got app to do it. Earlier, had tried to engage with chat agent, who invited me to put down the issue I had, and half way through typing it a screen came up to say all agents busy.

anyway, I digress. I got the €179 on screen a few times, but could never hold onto it to the basket either!

Maybe they are gearing up for the 100 euro off offer

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,204 ✭✭✭Roberto_gas

100off port offer on the way..looks Like a dodgy website update pushed early !

  • Registered Users Posts: 628 ✭✭✭Bulmers

Was showing €0.00 just now 😄..gave it a go but when got to basket got error messages.

shambles of a site but I did manage to get the 3a last time from here.

Have the 4a myself and 279 is great price if can get it.

So you reckon it will be available for €179 shortly? I ordered a free sim from 48 that I can use to port the number, is that generally what people have done previously?

To me it's more likely that the website designer left in some code from when the phone was €100 off in February but at a more expensive price.

Ordered 2 a week ago and 1 just reverted on Revolut, other still pending on bank account. Website is very bad and no confirmation emails on delivery

I was on with there chat and calls yesterday as I was getting this error and trying to get the phone for the 179, it was a non flyer from the start tbh basically a website glitch from previous offers as said above.

picked it up at 279, went to dispatched a half hour later and an post saying delivered today so will see how that goes

Yeah for all the shambolic websites and customer service, one positive thing you can say about them is the incredibly quick delivery.

Is there any way to purchase it without being a vodafone customer and signing up to one of the pay monthly packages?

The 279 is the pay as you go price. No contract.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,512 ✭✭✭Wheety

Seems like you have to top at least once? So €300?

Scratch that. Topping up is a separate transaction. €280 is a good price for this if the 3a is anything to go by.

I'm a Three customer. So this phone is unlocked, and will work OK out of the box if I simply insert my Three sim card?

It did with the 3A. People here saying it's unlocked so I presume it's the same here.

already arrived, less than 24 hours, impressed tbh

Flashed at 179 for me this morning. As soon as I went to order it went back to 279. I assume its an error on the site. Might be something to do with cookies.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,878 ✭✭✭The_B_Man

I was on the site yesterday. SAw it at 279, and then it dropped to 179. Tried to buy it and it dropped to -€100 for some reason. I got the impression it was for locking people into 12 month contracts. I wouldn't let me add to basket until i logged in with another persons account.
I'm hoping to buy a phone today. Hoping to grab it for the 179, but 279 is still decent if its a typo.

Seems that you can't add it to the cart without choosing one of the monthly packages.

Pulled the trigger on it this morning. I was considering the phone anyway, I'm due an upgrade from the Xiaomi which will be the backup phone now. Thanks for the heads up on the deal.

I thought that too but when you go right through to checkout, it's still only €280. I think you just choose your package but still need to top up with €20 to activate it, if you're using the Vodafone sim. Otherwise just stick your own in.

Are any of the shops open for click and collect? Tried calling the local one twice this morning and no answer. Assume they're closed so will try home delivery.
