A lot of excitement after Michelle on CB live

Then remembered MTs very recent post here tonight!
Totally conflicting (he’s leaning other direction)
    Who is right?
    Time will tell!
My worry is its MT!! Feckin MT!! Anyone else and I would have slept well

That was a very encouraging update from Michelle on Claire Byrne, things could get very interesting from Wednesday night!
Wife was like a kid on Christmas eve listening to it

Nobody knows until the day before and even at that mistakes can be made. Everything with snow in Ireland is marginal.

Same here in Ongar, west Dublin, roads, rooftops all white and grass getting there. They've changed our street lights from orange halogen to white LED since last significant snow in 2018. Cool seeing the eerie white reflection that lights up the snow better with the LED!

You know when you will know what's going to happen on Thursday? Thursday.

Fingers crossed the car starts after the frost, regretting not changing the battery after it let me down in the last cold spell:(

Briefly dropped to -0.2c here in south Laois.

There isn't really any shadow in the Irish Sea this evening. These setups will form streamwise streets of showers even without any terrain interference. Look at the radar animation of the showers getting into northeastern England.

Maybe this is the end of the IoM boogieman, I know I've overestimated it in the past.

    he does say "these setups"
There was a shadow on some previous events for sure!

Probability says it will. We probably needed a longer spell on colder weather to be in place and the low coming from the south more so than the south west.

Based on recent events. I expect this system to fizzle out over south Ulster.

Light snow again in Waterford City and the wind has really gained strength.

The activity building across England is quite enhanced at this point. It's even snowing just south of Manchester and Liverpool now.

And the first tentative echoes are getting in to the Irish sea. Seems to be a number of convergence zones in there. A surprise coming maybe?

    Anyhow night all.

That red plum on that radar was over my house for most of that model and we got nothing but a few flakes. You wouldn’t know we even got a few flakes. Somebody said they are from east Meath (which I am) and they got a decent dusting.

This tends to happen a lot but is it prob cause I’m right on the coast? Like I am only a few hundred metres from the beach.

That might have been me. I'm East Meath approx 2/3km from the coast and we've a decent dusting as at 7pm. I've had f all since.

So “beast from the east 2.0” now has potential for 2-5cm of snow... Sensationalist headlines strike again.

Still snowing here in saggart but barely sticking at all.

Yes it's pretty common that areas closer to the coast get less out of these setups. You'll see on radar how the showers and streamers fan out as they travel inland and get more intense (better seen on ME radar than the red one quoted). I've had on-off precip most of the evening in D9 but it was mostly very light. Further to my west people have dustings and reporting bigger flakes and heavier snow.

If convection was better these showers would be heavier out to sea already so it would be less of an issue but the bulk of things this time round is of the light to moderate variety.
