Tubridy is the worst interviewer to ever grace RTE and that is saying something.

Wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy, but why put anyone through this on TV?

I wouldn't be too hard on Ryan and the show in this instance. They could have outright refused to have the man on but maybe Barry insisted, and maybe they thought it was a chance to show grief. We can be uncomfortable in the face of it. Put our heads down and say "how terrible".

To be allowed in to that space though by the grieving person, to be able to bear witness to their pain, that can be immensely powerful for them.

I'm so sorry for Barry but dear God, RTE really disgusts me. They seem to do nothing but grief, cancer and human misery.

A new low from RTE. I know the poor man wanted the interview, but its difficult to watch.

For far too long Tubridy has been given credit for what are essentially "youtube reaction videos" presented to us as top level presenting. It's exploitative.

    Mr Bean is the exception

Batman (The Dark Knight ,The Dark Knight Rises & Joker) are a tad better than the original TV series

    Pure sh:ye!

I hope Tubs falls into a yawning chasm after this and never reappears. Miserable pr1ck. We came for here light entertainment during a pandemic, not a heap of grief.

    Lovely tattoo.

Would it be better to have it the other way around.

An absolute new low for Tubridy.

And this think Barry is not long over a very stressful court case..

Also, his older brother committed suicide mid 1990s..

I wonder would happen if Tubs interviewed George Lee?

    Another seamless transition.

What support line do the viewers ring, Ryan?

“Breaks my heart to see you like this”
    Tubs says.

    Disingenuous doesn’t even describe it.
    He’s reveling in it.

Replacing any ideas for real entertainment with this exploitative interview.
    Shameful.

Feel awfully sorry for Barry. But this isn’t right.

Like how about talking about Delores for an hour - music , family friends , band.

They always put the most woefully sad item on last thing before bed. Do they not realise the impact this has before sleep time, and especially on people who are enduring bereavements?

  • Registered Users Posts: 42 iwilldare

He revels in misery that fella, an absolute twit.

The most misery ridden show ever...

I wonder how Barry is right now. Someone handed him a tissue so he isn't alone tonight at least.

Lost my father a few months ago, I should have switched off sooner. Tubs is a sadist.

I know we always joke about the levels of misery p0rn week in week out, but I am in absolute disbelief and anger at that.

That interview should NOT have taken place.

This has been a pretty f**kin low point.
Pure exploitation from a company which revels in misery.
