Just to add to this - On BBC2 Northern Ireland Van Morrison - Up on Cyprus Avenue is on from 22:15 - 23:15

Recorded on his birthday, highlights of Van Morrison's unique live performance on the Belfast avenue he made famous through the iconic album Astral Weeks.

A p!ss poor television selection tonight. Is Rick Wakeman on Jools Holland to play one of his ridiculously long keyboard solos to help us fall asleep

Kodaline in NYE on RTÉ again...

Do Kodaline have a contract saying they are to sing at every NYE event for Dublin and RTÉ. If memory serves me correct they’ve been there probably every year the past 5 years.

I’d say Walking on Cars will be there as well.

Edit. Just see Walking on Cars have split up. Only so many times they can fit the lyrics “play pretends” into a song I suppose. Already did that for 2 of their biggest songs.

Kodaline seem like an appropriate band to play at a 2020 new years eve countdown, depressing band to end a depressing year

Blazing Saddles is at 1.30ish on RTE!

    Best thing ever!

Graham Norton on BBC1 now, he has some well known people on but they are not talking about death or illness. Amateur!

Ye Pete, Walking on Cars are gone. As for Kodaline I'd say RTE thought let's get those vanilla boys on interviewed by that other vanilla boy - Nicky Byrne.

All their high foreheads are distracting.

God modern mainstream Irish pop is sh1te.

Every single person on this RTE show feels like they should be on Live at 3 with Derek Davies and Thelma Mansfield. Who gives a **** about Sharon Shannon, Mindy or Brian Kennedy in 2020.

Can’t bear KT or DoK...they are horrible presenters but seem to be beloved in RTE

  • Registered Users Posts: 72,313 ✭✭✭✭Welsh Megaman

Just tuned in to RTE One :o

Has Jason Byrne regaled us yet with his high-larious anecdotes about how his mammy couldn’t operate an immersion heater before crashing into a Christmas tree?

Didnt want to hear any more about Brian Kennedys cancer scans so switched over to Norton where they have a shark playing a guitar, an immediate improvement

I think the drink is really going to my head.

    Some singer is butchering ‘N17’.

Pr Luke O Neill on. Give it a rest for one hour when we are in our homes looking for a bit of cheer. Making celebrities of these people is wholely unnecessary. Thankfully hootenanny has started

If I change channel it will get better

Excuse me but why is Luke O’Neill singing on me television on New Year’s Eve? Have I entered an alternate universe?
