This was the hardest year of my life personally by some distance so no big surprise that I couldn't keep concentration in a lot of games, hence the large number played. Still feel gaming is a great escapism though - definitely preferred something not too much of a epic world/story though this year, more pick up and play type games. You would think I'd be a better driver by now though after 80+ hours behind the wheel!

Question for those in the know here.

I picked up a PS5 for my son for Christmas a while back and now see that PS Plus has a 50% discount until next Tuesday.

Is it worth getting? I see you need to be over 18 so I could sign up myself and just use my account on the PS5? Are the games limited to a single profile when you sign up like the Xbox?

Once your account is on the console and has it set as home PS5 any other account can play online or the sub games on that console.

I think a lot of AFK inordinately inflated my time on GTA but it's the game my mates play so it goes to show what community can do.

• 531 on PS5 games
• 592 on PS4 games (on PS5)

Says 3 hours online, but that's wrong because:

61 games played

• Rocket League - 401 hours
• Car Mechanic Sim 21 - 105 hours
• Dysmantle - 88 hours
• GT7 - 72 hours (surprised)
• GoW Ragnarok - 59 hours

I feel like it's down on last year. Not surprised at Rocket League but happy with Dysmantle and Ragnarok being on there. Definitely the 2 stand out games this year. Very surprised at GT7 as I don't play online.

Bring on next year, should be a fair lump of PSVR2 in it!

In my defence, and while throwing shade as MS, I have spent quite a bit of time on Gamepass this year too. But MS don't do this wrap up as far as I'm aware. The year before I didn't have Xbox. And it still doesn't include the amount of time I spend on Netflix/Crunchyroll, etc either. I need to up them numbers, or MS need to tell me how much of my time I gave them!

Seems TrueAchievements does something, but doesn't give the time played. But if it's right, in 2022, on Xbox:

37 games played, 416 Achievements, 7396 GS.

You can get time played on the Xbox site, but it's convoluted and no filtering. But I've discovered this much, which doesn't include every game I've played so maybe another 50 or so hours on top of:

• Powerwash Simulator - 82 hours
• Hardspace : Shipbreaker - 79 hours
• Forza Horizon 5 - 31 hours
• Vampire Survivors - 22 hours (Yikes... it did not feel that long!)
• Ori and the Will of the Wisps - 23 hours
• Ori and the Blind Forest - 11 hours

So, at least another 300 hours on Xbox.

Oh, and Elden Ring, I tried it. But not for me.

I'm sure some people look at those numbers and think I don't have a life. And they're right. When one doesn't socialise because they don't drink, and spends 98% of their life in the waking hours of 4pm to 9am, there's plenty time for gaming! Thankfully I'm interested in something which doesn't require me to leave the house. Power outages are my Ragnarok.

Actually surprised myself with the amount of time I got to play games this year, I'm up 66% on last year. Not exactly massive numbers though:

Tales of Arise - 82 hours

Spiderman - 43 hours

GTA5 - 28 hours

Fortnite - 24 hours

Stray - 21 hours

I'm actually happy I'm getting the value out of the console if I'm being honest.

My numbers tell me I really need to stop playing a game for a couple of hours and leaving it on the pause menu until I remember it's been left on some hours later. Think my total time would be almost cut in half! 😅

Yeah MS make you manually do it which is a pain in the hole and its not done on yearly etc. Though with the amount of free advertising this and spotify wrapped etc does it seems mad to not do it really

Without elden ring I doubt I would have had as many hours. Loved the game. 92 hrs in GT7. Enjoyed that as well even if the economy is a bit scabby.

The others in the list are ~20hrs each, the rest must be random PS+ titles. I try give a few of them a go

Think the clock is a bit off but finished a heap of games this year, think around 40. Got through a heap of the backlog as well.

Don't think I'll be able to match it next year.

Had 1273 hours in 2020.

954 hours in 2021.

Of all the Far Cry's since 3, that's the one U enjoyed the most. That is until the end boss when I realised how underlevelled I was and had to go do other missions to level up which annoyed me so i just quit. It's being added to PS Plus Extra this month so will give it a go again.
