Wales totally gave up; that was a ridiculous try.

Shaun Edwards giggling away in France as a winger scores on a crash ball on the try line though the centers.

Quiet 2nd half but popped up at the right time.

Very encouraging first half albeit one where we couldn't finish our chances. Second half was pretty poor. Wales upped their intensity a bit and we conceded silly penalties. Lowe and Doris looked good as did Sexton when on the pitch. Keenan and Conway were solid too. Didn't get many chances to attack but did their defensive duties well.

Good man Lowe. Be sure to mention it to Willams when you shake his hand.

Yea you’d be raging if Ireland conceded a try like that.

    So basic.

Can you please explain your thinking? Does he do anything except place the ball?

Moving the hands is fine I think. The entire body/hips is another story.

If you were a Welsh fan you would be really worried, they were not far from full strength and we're pathetic

Wayne pivac for the chop before the 6 nations....Italy would fancy themselves against them

Now that is an Irish team I would like to watch. So much young talent. And amazingly they are able to play at international level. So feic this idea that you must have 50 caps to be a good international player.

Billy Burns was very good tonight

Stander Doris and Leavy would be great for the 6n

Loose Head is an area of concern

Could be an embarrassing campaign for them if they don't improve.

The result was really good under the circumstances of our gameplay. It wasn't a pretty game to watch but it had some decent passages of play in between with more of it coming from Ireland rather than Wales. I'm delighted for Lowe to get the try at the end as it was well deserved.

Wales did not show themselves up tonight. They were really poor. Their match against Georgia is one that they have to win to avoid getting 7 losses in a row.

The RTE fake crowd noise was incredibly annoying. Especially when the entire commentary team kept going on about how quite it was, and eerie, and that you could hear the players calls. You couldn't because of the fake nonsense.

The worst bit was the sympathy applause for Sexton going off injured by the non-existent crowd.

We need to have a serious conversation about Murray at 10....

  • Registered Users Posts: 837 ✭✭✭Subpopulus

Frustrating that Ireland didn't cut loose against a very weak Welsh side, but understandable given the number of young players and the choppyness caused by the injuries caused to Sexton and Burns.

Some promising passages of play visible - a few intricate moves to get the ball moved out wide and quite a bit of offloading. Hopefully that will continue to come together.

I know you're joking but Burns, and to a lesser extent Murray, put in the best two performances from sub fly halves in a green jersey in an awful long time
