"<insert name here> should be taken out back and shot" while in poor taste is a commonly used phrase to say someone is terrible at something. It's hardly the same as saying that someone should be shot and killed.

There have been many mystifying pardons given out by many Presidents.

Even though Trump has pardoned far fewer people than Obama, his list is "interesting"

GWB pardoning Scooter Libby was dodgy

GB Snr pardoning all the Iran/Contra guys was dodgy.

Clinton pardoning Susan McDougal, his former Business Partner was also well dodgy.

They've all given out pardons that were questionable, however I think Trump is the only one that has pardon someone (Flynn, Stone) for a crime directly linked to the President and he'll pardon a few more even closer ones before he's done.

    That was Trump.

    Bush commuted his sentence.

I've long said there was a potential of this happening.

    Ivanka
MAGA-ite in Manhattan?: Ivanka Trump’s political ambitions seek new home after the White House
Friends and former associates say they expect the first daughter to think about running for office, or at least get involved in some way in Republican politics

    .....

Ivanka Trump has dodged questions about whether she plans to run for a political office. But over her four years serving as a senior White House adviser, she has completed a stunning transformation from a publicly liberal New Yorker who some hoped would serve as a restraining influence on her father to an “unapologetically” “pro-life” advocate of the Make America Great Again agenda — a “proud Trump Republican,” as she told Fox News earlier this year.

She should be laughed out of the room if she ever puts her name on a ballot, but that was the case with her father as well and look how he did.
Expect to see publicity shots of her meeting world leaders, opening the US embassy in Jerusalem, attending G7 conferences etc while Fox pundits gush about her being such an example as a working mother, talk about how much she learned while working in the White House for her father, and how she tried to reign in the worst motivations of her devious father.

The boot should be firmly kept on Trumps neck in terms of the law suits against him to show just how destructive this family is.
And Trump supporters crow about the 'elite' and draining the swamp as Ivanka and her husband struggled to get security clearance and just waltzed in to the White House.

If Ivanka were to run against AOC for the office of President tomorrow, AOC would get destroyed and that says just how much of a mess US politics is in.

Biden has surpassed 81 million votes, and expanded his popular vote victory margin to nearly 7 million votes and 4.4%.

    Biden 81,059,553 (51.3%)
    Trump 74,118,736 (46.9%)

This is the second biggest win over an incumbent since 1900.

Yeah and no, the irony of that guys tweet is that he and anyone who wasn't speaking out quite a while ago are also absolutely complicit. It's just that their time changed once the crosshairs landed in them or those near them.

    Odious.

She's giving him personal credit for creation of the vaccines. This is North Korea levels of propaganda where the Dear Leader is given personal credit for anything positive.

It's just an exercise in bare-faced lies and public humiliation. I think this press sec is even worse than Sarah Huckabee Sanders, and I thought it was impossible to be a worse liar than her. But they take it to a new level with each appointment.

Also calling it the Trump vaccine wouldn't be a ringing endorsement.
They actually want people to take it.
    Not fear it.

none of them pardoned a co-conspirator or somebody who paid for a pardon. as per usual you hold everybody other than trump to a much higher standard.

I think it shows humility and comedy. Certainly speaks volumes that Trump was the only president not to have any kind of a pet in the white house, and that he uses the term 'dog' in a derogatory way

After 4 years of completely toxic bolloxology from Trump, the world needs a little levity.

The office of the president was a rancid toilet since he took office and isn't it pleasant to have some humour at no one's expense, rather than a press release or tweet encouraging actions against a governor, violence against the press or that people other than those that are white should go back to where they came from.

PS - Substantive policy was presented at the debates by Biden, while trump waxed lyrical with nebulous nonsense.

The office of the president has been a rancid toilet for a long time. Take a look at Obama's/Bush's foreign policy. This reminds me of the Elizabeth Warren love in during the primaries, ****é like "Wouldn't it be nice to have a mom in charge?"

A lot of democrat voters love to be babied and pandered to, that's why they ate up all the ****é that Obama served them. It would have been better for Obama's legacy if he had pushed for more radical reform while the Democrats controlled both houses before 2010, instead of squandering most of his presidency.

Biden provided little of substance at those debates. Simply not being Trump was enough for a lot of people. People most in need of real reform should know they won't get it with Biden, or Harris for that matter.

Any expectation that real change is coming in the next 4 years is seriously misguided.

Unlike Trump Biden did actually have policies. It is possible for a politician to be both a human being and have policies. they are not mutually exclusive.

Ronald Reagan showed plenty of comedy in his time. He was also one of the most destructive presidents in the 20th Century.
