This is in a country where even suburban Democrat voters are buying guns to protect themselves out of fear.

This report from March has what exactly to do with the protests or Jacob Blake etc?

The only consistency in those who BLM protest for is that they are all extremely violent to women and children.

The protesters go home to suburbia.

News to me that Breonna Taylor was extremely violent to anyone. She was in training to be an EMT wasn't she.

250,000 likes on Trump's tweet where he says he would be willing to debate Biden on the Joe Rogan podcast.

Doubt Biden would have the stones for it though. Trump would be in his element.

‘The country is literally out of ammunition.’ Gun store owners scramble to meet unprecedented demand.
Guns store owners around the state say the confluence of the coronavirus pandemic, civil unrest and an upcoming presidential election have created an unprecedented surge in residents seeking to purchase firearms and ammunition. The surge began, they say, when the coronavirus pandemic began devastating the country in March and continued to skyrocket in the aftermath of the protests that followed after George Floyd, an unarmed Black man, was killed by police in Minneapolis in May.

As of August 12, the New Jersey State Police has received nearly 130,000 firearm applications, topping the number of applications the agency received in 2018 and 2019 combined, according to State Police data. The number of applications this year has increased by more than 137% since last year— with more than 4 months left in 2020, according to the agency.

Michael D. Anestis, the executive director New Jersey Gun Violence Research Center, is studying the surge in firearm purchases during the pandemic. “A lot of the purchasing is driven by anxiety,” he said, which is not uncommon in times of uncertainty, adding that preliminary data suggests the demand is the highest it has been in decades.

Aside from the usual "Democrats are going to take away our guns" panic buying in the run up to an American election cycle, this year there is tension in the suburbs since March which has only accelerated, the DNC has used this strategy of tension to try and persuade voters and become identified with the likes of ANTIFA and BLM rioters. The optics are terrible and the threats from criminals are more relevant with police budgets being cut, the message to voters is you are on your own.

Net Zero means we are paying for the destruction of our economy and society in pursuit of an unachievable and pointless policy.

Are you genuinely fascinated by how many likes a Trump tweet gets?

Aside from being total bandwagon fallacy, as many as 57 million followers of Trump's account are fake.

To be impressed by 250k likes on one tweet is, subsequently, very pedestrian of you.

Sure doesn't Trump always bang on about his ratings, obviously his supporters will mirror his language and see this as a good thing.

Rogan as a moderator for a presidential debate, laughable at best.

I would advise caution about reading into those tea leaves: yes, people armed up to defend themselves, but this year for instance I also secured a weapon for 2A and among my reasons for doing so weren't left wing protests but what could happen if Trump refuses to transition power when he's voted out of office or any other number of abuses of power, including the type of behavior a poster was suggesting just a few posts up which may be extrajudicial. Unless there's a comprehensive poll showing why people are buying guns currently it's simple guessing.

You're just deflecting I know but yes, in such a short time frame it shows that there is great interest in a debate between the two in a format that moves away from the traditional stale one we are all used too. Be nice to see it but again, doubt Joe would have the chutzpah required.

Don't think Bidens advisers will let that happen after this episode with Matt Taibbi. Rogan clarified it later on. Rogan is not exactly a Trump fan either, and he has interviewed Bernie Sanders and Tulsi Gabbard.

I think most people who like the Joe Rogan podcast format would like to see it happen though, whether they would stick it for 4 hours is another question.

Deflecting from what? The entire premise of a rogan debate is a deflection in itself from real problems facing Americans that Trump refuses to assume leadership for. It is not something that would ever honestly be entertained. Trump already tried to beg the Commission on Presidential Debates for a 4th debate and gave them a list of moderators that were sympathetic to Trump's agenda, and the Commission already turned him down. Floating the idea of a Rogan debate is yet another whiny attempt to complain that he can't win 3 debates with Biden.

Trump assumes leadership each and every day. It's a liberal talking point to keep saying he does not. Meanwhile he just gets on with the job and today he's signed an historic peace deal.

Yeah, not something he'd entertain as he/they know he'd make a show of himself. Giving interviews to Cardi B is more his speed.

Hang on...I read on here that people have to take responsibility for the good and the bad,
so shouldn't trump be praised when he does something good ?

I mean, people are quick to jump all over when he does something they claim is bad.

“Believe it or not, even when I’m in Washington or New York, I do not watch much television,” Trump scolded reporters aboard Air Force One in 2017. “People that don’t know me, they like to say I watch television — people with fake sources. You know, fake reporters, fake sources. But I don’t get to watch much television. Primarily because of documents. I’m reading documents. A lot. I actually read much more — I read you people much more than I watch television.”

He then goes on to list the TV shows he watched the day before, 8 hours of TV (all pro Trump of course). That's really getting on with the job alright.

Eight hours of TV is "downtime" for the president of the US whilst in the middle of a global pandemic that has killed circa 200,000 citizens and continues to kill on average 1000 a day.

There isn't a thing that man can do that you won't defend.

Nevermind he promised to "rarely" leave of the White House.

He's played at least 278 rounds of golf in office.

Oh please. He watched some TV, you're being melodramatic. You think the Coronavirus taskforce are all sitting out in the hall as Trump watches TV or something, just waiting for him to decide what it is that he wants them to do next? The man barely sleeps he works so much, even those that hate him contest to that. The pandemic is worldwide and anyway, most of the choices are undertaken at State level. You just want to push the false narrative that Trump's responsible for each and every death and yes, Timber, we've seen the responsibility tweet you've posted a million times now, and it's not near that 'Gotacha' you clearly think it is.

False. Criticized him a good few times. When it was warranted. Which it rarely is.

And all because Trump didn’t want to hurt his election chances.

Two of the top 5 in deaths per million have populations of less than 100k so their population size results in deaths per million rapidly increasing. In terms of developed nations ahead of them, it's about 6 and they're all viewed to have handled the virus terribly. They also have generally exited the first wave.

They will pass out the UK in the next week which is a pretty awful look. So yes, they're up there with the best of them in terms of atrocious handling.

How in the Jaysus does anyone with a job watch 8 hours of TV a day. Let alone the president of the United States.

    Slow your roll there son.

By what metrics are you judging US president Trump and how does that compare to his peers? How do you account for the difference between states within the USA? How does Ireland (Rep) compare to Alabama which has a similar sized population? Is Ireland vs Alabama a fair comparison? Given we are only partway through this how do we know? You also implied that the number of deaths was "because Trump didn’t want to hurt his election chances"? Has he stated this?, did you read his mind? What is the basis of your claim, are you blindly repeating claims of the political opposition?

How many people died of suicide triggered by the economic lockdown? How many people will die of other conditions because they could not get treatment in a timely manner because they were too scared to attend, restricted from moving to see a specialist or because the services were withdrawn? What happens when the government and media will not tolerate any criticism of their handling of the situation? How are we so free to criticise the president of another country but not our own?

Weird, Pa avoided addressing anything in relation to US covid numbers.... Instead you went on a rant about Ireland and linked to some alt right youtube channels... I would like to address one claim though. Cause making out the lockdown increased suicide rates here is pretty nasty.
