Where does Lampard go from here? He's done as a top flight manager.

Maybe Derby will take him back when they bin Rooney but cant see anyone higher than that wanting him.

I have a small bit of sympathy for him, the Chelsea offer came too soon for him but yet he couldn't turn it down.

Yeh bookies odds are changing rapidly with this City result. I'm sure some large hedge betters will be smashing

    Liverpool @ 2.6
    City @ 2.75

At those sort of prices, you'd nearly have to say that they are joint favourites!

ole couldn't turn down utd as he was in management 10 years and did alright as interim. of course lampard could have turned down this offer.

it remains to be seen if he should have turned it down. 1 thing in soccer, **** can turn around quickly.

You have to put Spurs and Leicester above them to be realistic. Bookies have it priced wrong.

Yes, it's all the bookies that are wrong..

They mostly are believe it or not. Most punters are complete punting mugs and never make a sustained profit. Bookies on the other hand :)

Werner hurting himself by kicking the ground while trying to take a corner sums up this display for Chelsea.

The only thing I gamble on is BTC, ETH and Tezos and two are flying.

Less than a month ago, Chelsea went top of the league and won their CL group, as Man Utd crashed out.

Now Lampard is hanging on to his job and Solskjaer is being heralded as almost competent.

Funny old game and all that...

City are well and truly in the title race. Will take a very good team to stop them. Lots of players missing and they thump Chelsea away from home.

twists and turns. its par for the course for these managers that have no credit in the bank.

i like the use of almost as well, cos i think thats important.

Chelsea wouldn't have made it through Uniteds group either.

Both sides and managers are average enough and variance catches up on them eventually

6 teams within 4 points at the top. tight.

city 6 of bottom 7 in their next 7 games - you would think they will be top after that

City's league fixtures very favourable until they get to Anfield in February. You would fancy them to be very close to the top by then. If not at the top.

    Brighton A
    Palace H
    Villa H
    West Brom A
    Sheff Utd H
    Burnley A

geoff shreeves is annoying, but KDB gives a good interview - not filled with useless cliches. he's well able to speak his mind and articulate his thoughts.

Remember a few weeks ago when Lampard was a better manager than Bielsa after they scraped past Leeds with a team that cost half a billion?

    Good times

I expect Liverpool will win that game but I still think City might be top by the end of those run of games. Liverpool also have to play Spurs again I think before the end of the month.

the odds are out. liverpool 2.05, draw 3.4 and utd 3.75.

i dunno, its a closer tie than those odds suggest. it'll depend on how klopp approaches the game cos you know how ole will set up utd.

I think how Klopp approaches the game will depend on how many fit CBs he has.

If Matip is fit, it allows Liverpool to play higher as a defensive line and the midfielders can play higher with more freedom and also TAA can push up higher and wider also, which will give him a lot more opportunities to create goalscoring chances as he will be protected behind him by Matip's ability.

If someone like Nat Philips is starting, it forces the defensive line to be a lot deeper so that his lack of pace is not exposed as much. It forces the midfield deeper so that he is protected more and Man Utd can't run at him 1v1 very often and it also forced TAA back deeper with not as much freedom to stay higher and leave gaps behind him.
