Theres been 16 clean sheets so far this season.

That must be a record low?

Somebody said yesterday that scoring goals is the hardest thing in football. I think clean sheets is the hardest thing this season anyway.

Has to do with less pressure from the fans? Ridiculous amount of goals every game.

Today delivers to build on yesterday and make it a good weekend of football!

If referees issued their report and explained why decisions were made it would be a positive move.

It would give some transparency to decisions of the officials and VAR.
Oh if Michael Oliver put in a report it would be he didn’t see it , which may be true, and would have expected var to notify him of serious foul play . The var officials effed up thinking it was an un-reviewable incident. He may not be able to award the peno but he can still red card Pickford

The VAR official is 100% at fault. All he had to do was ask Oliver to have a look at it on the monitor - hardly a very difficult thing to do.

I do think on field official's levels have dropped off since VAR has come in as they now have a comfort blanket or someone second guessing there decision for them.

Thoughts on the Ogbonna fouling winks before the goal?

Looks like he tries to block him.

Isn't it a case of the ref tells the VAR what to check i.e. Is it offside? and that's all they look at?

Cityz title to win with the news of VVD needing surgery

VAR watch everything and they can tell the on field ref that they missed something.

No, the. VAR official can tell the ref - Lee Mason told the ref in the Man Utd game to have a look at the challenge on Rashford yesterday and ref looked and awarded a penalty having waved it away originally

Fair enough so, I thought it was like the rugby where the ref tells them what to check.

On another point, when is the premier league squad's deadline? Can Liverpool sign a free transfer?

"Clubs have until 20 October to submit their updated 25-man squad list to the Premier League. This follows the closure of the domestic-only window, during which clubs can trade only with those in the EFL or below, at 17:00 BST on 16 October."

So yes, but they need to get a move on if they're gonna do it.

    <edit>
Garay probably the standout option as someone that's available, could still offer something, comes with top level experience and at the age where they would probably take a one-year deal.

If they have the space they can add a free agent at any time afaik.

Wonder if it's the same injury another Dutch man had. RVN who got back to normal after his time off and he was rolling around in agony after his one. VVD didn't look to bad afterwards yesterday so maybe not as bad as feared.

The immediate reaction by the person doesn't really give any indication to the severity of the tear.

It's currently being reported as a grade 3, which is the worst.

If it's a grade 3, I very much doubt he will play again this season. A real loss. Harder to take that no punishment was given at the time- although that is really feeling more irrelevant now the true nature of the injury has become clear.
Pressure is now on Matip, Gomez and Fabinho to play well and stay fit. Allison gone for another while and maybe Thiago too.
This could bind the squad all the more, if that was possible.

Like the Keane one maybe, he played on after doing his cruciate before being out for the rest of the season.

I'm disappointed with the draw as a spurs fan no excuse we should have hammer them 5 0, first half then there comeback would run out of puff.

    Only ourselves to blame..

An average joe soap can get on with life and walk on with a torn ACL and never need surgery.

What do you think it is? Dropped 4 points already this season by failing to see a game out with a minute to go. Being 3 up against West ham with 5 minutes to go or whatever it was and to only get a draw has got to be soul destroying? Couple of guys in that team stealing a living

Did David Moyes make a genius tactical decision and after two subs turn a 3_0 loss into a 3_3 draw against a superior team with Jose as manager.

I always thought moyesey got a bad rep because of his time at united, do the people of boards think its possible to learn tactics after a number of years or is it a case of a stopped clock.

More of a case of spurs being spursy I'd say?

Didn't Shefflin play an All Ireland two weeks after doing his? The time I did mine I went back skiing for another hour but could't kneel for 8 month's!

    Spurs spursed it.

I thought the free kick at the end that led up to goal was very soft but still thats poor from Jose team.

    He did that twice.

He tore his in the semi finals was able to play in the finals if I remember that right but then missed the next 9 months after both finals.

    Edit.
Henry Shefflin (Kilkenny): Shefflin has torn /ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament on his left and right knees. Both recovery periods, from the time of his operation to his first competitive game back, have been within nine months.

In 2007 he damaged the cruciate ligament on his right knee in the All-Ireland final against Limerick, had the operation two weeks later but was back for Kilkenny's Sunday June 15 Leinster semi- final win over Offaly.

Three years later he put off an operation on his left knee to play in the 2010 All-Ireland final against Tipperary but limped out early. Following surgery he was back to face Wexford the following June, encompassing another nine month period.

The Ballyhale sharpshooter tore the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his left knee in the semi-final defeat of Cork and it was initially believed to be serious enough to force him out of the final.

Yet an accelerated rehabilitation regime with Limerick physical therapist Gerard Hartmann has seen the former Hurler of the Year defy all medical opinion. He returned to training just 17 days later and is now expected to play a starting role in Kilkenny's historic 'Drive for Five'.
Hopefullly VVD won't be out for long!

Massive change in odds now after that news. City gone to odds on. They were almost 2/1. Liverpool out to almost 3/1. City's to lose imo.
