Hi,just wondering if i should bother continuing on with this campaign. Passed the tests but I never done the 360° scan of the room and from what I remember they said if invited to interview they would review the recordings and will disqualify people. Should I bother or does anyone know if the recordings will be reviewed for definite,or will they just look at results and etray scores etc...

NO. Once the panel expires you start the process all over again. Im also in the top 10 for my county but it wont happen. 2018 panel ends when this panel starts.

Are you on 2018 or 2019 panel?

    Thanks ‘West is Best‘
Ahh I see, so Galway list moves at a pedestrian pace. Does awaiting placement means you are definitely getting a position ? & you didn’t do this campaign?

No definites unfortunately! I have applied for the 2020 campaign too. It's been slow in Galway alright but I had expected it to close in September!

This isn't strictly true if the one interview is covering your 2 county choices, as mine did, so I'm still on 2 panels

This is first time I've heard of this being done. What competition was it done on previously?

If you're 79 in open and 25 in Interdepartmental (I'm already in the civil service), what way does that affect being called for etray I wonder? Meath. 🀔

1500ish in open and 500ish inter (dublin), not sure what the chances are for getting called!

Got eo in dublin after 2 years with an oom of 1500.

I'm beside myself with shock today.

    Within top 500 for Dublin.
    Within top 50 for Louth.

Apparently I did amazing on that numerical reasoning test; shame it wasn't part of the overall score or I'd probably be much higher in both. But I'm hoping that these OOMs will be enough to get me an interview. Quite the turn-around from 5,400th+ in the CO competition.

    Hi,

Congtarts! Do you mind telling your scores in each section.

PLEASE NOTE: If you are invited to attend stage 3 (Interview) for one of your regional locations and you attend, you will no longer be considered for any other position in your other regional location choice.

As per above from booklet you can only be on one panel

In this competition it would appear it is strictly true that if you attend interview for one county, you will no longer be considered for the second county. It is pretty clear from the booklet.

Newbie Applicant here. Was shocked (& delighted) to pass. Got OOM 40 in Limerick. Not sure what the likelihood of progression is... So “etray” is next - when is it likely this will happen?

Im wondering would there be any point emailing PAS with all our questions? when is E-tray, how many progress to e-tray etc... This yrs comp appears to be totally different due to covid etc so we are just all guessing?? Im also wondering would covid throw up more positions in the CS too, surely DEASP is stretched with all the people on the PUP , dept Education should be sweating too to name just a couple....

From my understanding e-tray next then you get a new oom for interviews. My wife was 14 on batch 1 for laois in last campaign and 60 for kildare but never got an interview.

I assumed revenue was not included. I have done 2018 comp and dont know anyone who got offered revenue. AFAIK revenue did not recruit from the 2018 panel. They generally do their own comps.

Revenue did recruit from the 2018 panel.

Revenue also run internal competitions for specialist EO roles e.g. EO in audit. These roles require specific educational qualifications.

Revenue will recruit from this competition.

You may be an EO in one of the call centres, customer service, debt management etc

    I currently work in Revenue.

I know at least 4 people who got EO (audit) within revenue. They will make sure you study for a qualification, but they (x4) did not have even the leaving cert, just had numerous years experience as CO.....

You are expected to complete a qualification that will be in the audit field, but you continue to work as normal. Flexi time.

Last year’s EO (Audit) internal competition required specific educational qualifications, I have the internal email.

Yes, you have to study for a qualification whilst working full time.

    Flexi time is great though!

The whole thing is a crock of ****e, testing, interviews are all about who can bs the most, truth and honesty will get you nowhere
I can definitely say this is a bunch of bull with regards to my own situation. I am a current CO going for EO through Interdepartmental, and got the CO position by being completely honest with my interviewers.

On another note: I have a feeling a lot of this will be wrapped up by Xmas, the first rounds of interviews anyway. Seems like a lot of people are gonna be moving with mobility and a lot retiring too, having realised the change in life balance because of the WFH or quieter life situation.

Well done , can I ask what scores you got please ?

I didnt know that. I know a lot on the panel from 2018.

Can you explain why people in the 20s and lower have not been offered position in revenue form the 2018 panel ?
Did they just offer to revenue COs that got EO?

Hi all, really surprised with results after that numerical test. Does anyone know if mid 500s in Dublin interdepartmental stream is a good starting point?

Which batch are you referring to?

That panel had the guts of a thousand people on it. Revenue do and often recruit from open panels. Public Appointments will assign the next vacancy alerted to them from various departments to the next applicant in line. Just because you’re not aware of anyone that was assigned revenue, doesn’t mean they haven’t recruited from open panels.

They do that alot(but it's the same in every department, managers ask do you want to stay and they see what they can do), But there's an inter panel that has to be pulled from too and there's no guarantee that a revenue person will be on the list. They have there own open EO compliance panel which is why this PAS one isn't used as much

I can’t explain why, no, that would be up to PAS.

I’ve sat with one of two EOs in the canteen that came in on the open competition though.

And yes, COs in my building were promoted to EOs and just moved floor/section. I don’t know what panel they were pulled from though. We’ve also got a CO from DEASP who joined us an EO.

As stated above, the next person on the panel gets the next vacancy....

I would imagine you will be called for the next stage (e-tray)

By the time they get to you, some will have sat stage 3 and not passed. 500s is not bad, considering some here were in the 1,200s

Thanks for the reply, wasnt sure the standard for inter! Yeah got mid 1500s for open stream too, I'd imagine there will be a lot of vacancies arising over the coming months/year so I think even that oom isnt bad either

I was in the oom 70s batch 1 after etray for Cork from 2019. They stopped interviews at 52. The 2020 CO panel for Cork hasn't moved either. Ive since taken up a position with HSE. Much higher chance with the Dublin panels.

Out of curiosity- do they do internal competitions (not like the current nationwide search) for filling e o roles like they send out c o vacancies internally or other civil service areas all the time to me

Placed 220 for Kerry and 480 for Cork in open panel for 2020 EO for probably zero chance?😟
