No chance. That place while an absolute disaster is a little snapshot into the damage that could be done with having pubs open again.

Now while I don't doubt there are house parties that are going on that are every bit as bad, they have no legal standing. Allowing pubs open now would be like sending a message that the government condones this kind of behaviour and MM is far too risk averse to even consider that.
    We will see I suppose.

Your predicting there won't be a wet pub open til next year, I am predicting they will be allowed to open by mid September at the latest, if they follow certain guidelines.

I have no idea I am not an expert, I would guess limiting numbers based on square footage, hand sanitizer, time limits on visits, visors/masks for staff, table service only.
I suppose follow best practice from other countries.

Stupid fcuks, mostly blame the owners and the staff, take their licence away and dole only for the staff. This is the reason I can't get a pint without a poxy meal.

There are some amount of thick ***** in Dublin. I'm all for pubs opening in a safe manner, there's loads of them near me who have done so, but those clowns in the videos are absolute brainless morons. I'd say every other pub owner and employee around the country will be fuming when they see the videos because of the reputational damage and threat to their livelihoods.

They're thick *****, it's as simple as that. They should be hammered for it. But it's not right to punish everyone for their stupidity.

I do sympathise with all those publicans affected, genuinely I do but could RTE & Virgin please stop with the reports featuring affected publicans, still, yes still wiping down counter tops and tables, mother of God, they haven't been used for months.

After tonight's videos from Temple Bar, you won't see a "wet" pub open in Ireland in 2020.

    Are they on Twitter?

That’s the big issue they are branding all pubs the same a local rural pub who might get 5 or 6 punters in on week nights is being treated the same as the big pubs in city’s around the country.. if the guards can’t police pubs on dame street in city centre where issues have arisen before then how can we trust them to police the reopening of all Dublin pubs when its plain to see some pubs can’t be trusted to reopen in turn ****ing it up for all pubs in the country.

Berlin is the name of the pub, in Dublin

That's probably the craziest thing I've seen in a while. The general attitude is what's scary, people are trying their best and next of all you've others that don't give a care in the world.

Fantastic example of the moronic use of face masks with at least 2 bar staff touching the fronts of their masks, pulling them down to their chins, to have a swig from a shared bottle.

Anyone got a video of the goings on of The Dubliner pub in Berlin last night? Can't believe that it got that rowdy

Stupid morons. I reckon though if all pub setting including those that serve food were closed, we'd still see videos of some crowd like that acting recklessly.

Do they serve food in there?

Can't see FFFG-HSE allowing regular pubs to open up this side of 2021, it's very convenient to blame them for spreading Covid, so opening them up again won't be a priorty.. apart from the Dail bar.

If you want to walk into a pub for a pint then you'll have to go abroad.

This doesn't make any sense. The government is losing an absolute fortune in taxes by keeping the pubs closed at one of the busiest times of the year for them. The government takes a cut on every drink sold in every pub in Ireland. Why is it in any way convenient to keep them closed?

They've no pub licence and never had, operating under a restaurant licence but styling themselves as a pub/club.

This is just extraordinary, that's it I'm afraid for pubs reopening, just beggars belief and with 200 new cases reported yesterday, shocking

At least the barman (or whatever) is wearing a mask. Seriously, why bother if you're going to ignore every other protocol.

Good, I suppose now there might be some recognition of it being the least important of any measure a pub adopts.
