Ok I'll lend a vote to José Gonzalez - he did a very unique take on a fantastic song and made something so different and (almost) as great. Plus I loved that ad with all the bouncing balls!

Edit: ah fúck, never mind then. Damn you Necro!

Weren’t Roxy Music involved in the undecided tie in last round as well?

Kind of like Hilary Clinton. You don’t want to vote for her but you don’t want to vote against her either.

They were, well spoted. It was their other song, they lost 5-4 to Devo.

If Roxy music and FNM end in a tie, Roxy will advance having a better result in the previous round.

It'll probably get trampled on over that competition, but I still like People Are Strange.
    Also, Tainted Love, great track.

    Votes above. Hon Buckley.

And Soft Cell and that Clapton song are just better imo.

Stereophonics - Handbags and Gladrags Vs No Doubt - It's My Life - PASS

Echo and the Bunnymen - People Are Strange. Hugely underrated cover.

Muse - Feeling Good. Muse make the song sound like it's always been a rock song.

Soft Cell - Tainted Love. A classic and potential overall winner.

Match 1: No Doubt - better band, better song, and I find Stereophonics boring in general
Match 2: Echo and the Bunnymen - I like both but I will go with the Bunnymen because I've seen them live and they are very good
Match 3: Muse - Clapton was mostly before my time so no real connection with the song
Match 4: Soft Cell - 2 of my nominations against each other, will go with Tainted Love because it was part of my formative musical years!!

2025 gigs: Selofan, Alison Moyet, Wardruna, Gavin Friday, Orla Gartland, The Courettes, Scissor Sisters, Nine Inch Nails, Stipe, The Rocky Horror Show, Rhiannon Giddens, New Purple Celebration, Nova Twins

No Doubt - It's My Life. They made it a very No Doubt song.
Jeff Buckley - Hallelujah. Very difficult for me to oppose this, being a massive Jeff Buckley fan.
Muse - Feeling Good. Also a big Muse fan, so gotta have this. Love the breakdown as it progresses.
Soft Cell - Tainted Love. Love Pink Floyd, do not love Scissor Sisters' cover at all.

Stereophonics - Handbags and Gladrags - love this cover, they really make it their own.
Jeff Buckley - Hallelujah - really tough choice, but Buckley's voice edges it for me.
Muse - Feeling Good - always been a massive Muse fan.
Scissor Sisters - Comfortably Numb - while i love the soft cell cover, this will likely need my vote :pac:
