    What's a take out?

Heard it on the RTE news tonight, just the tail end of a report, something to do with levels 1,2 and 3, then you can take out

Take your pint outside or what?

Hello. Yes, that's it. It refers to the consumption of food or beverage away from its point of sale. This will be permitted during the upcoming reduction of restrictions to Level 3.

    Hello, good evening,
Are you still pretending to know inside information when you've not a breeze? Sad really.

Its allowed now and has been for ages. Take away pints, rule is to be consumed 100 metres from point of sale, bring them home, drink them wherever doesn't really matter

Thanks for that, nearly a takeaway, but not quite :)

MelbourneMan, you have already been banned from the main Covid discussion thread for ignoring an admin warning about implied inside knowledge. Your posts in this thread, and others, are still carrying on with this theme

This is your final warning, you will be banned from the forum if you make another post in this forum stating, implying or otherwise hinting at having insider knowledge. This message has been PM'd to you too.

That seems to be the plan, leaked to Indo this morning.

To be honest, I'd take it at this stage, few pints in the lead up to Christmas, and Stephens day, etc. Better than nothing.

you shouldn't "take it" , you should demand what you believe is correct. the government is here to serve you

at this stage i hope everybody has emailed their TDs.

I have emailed my TDs recently about my total frustration at their inept leadership ect...in covid. I was more polite that I am here.

2 out 5 responded. Usual guff. You'd swear Tony Holohan replied on their behalf

The more that email the more the back benchers will fear their future and nothing gets a back bencher more upset than not being popular.

    Sounds good!

Gas that the top guys in the country are trying to organise pints for us, what a country!

Is the level 2 then only for the 2 weeks of Christmas?

Any link to the indo article ?

It's all a bit daft in terms of pubs/restaurants as there going to be manic when they open but going to level 3 earlier will work for the retail sector

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,425 ✭✭✭emo72

Talk about stupidity. Opening pubs in the 18th will lead to a deluge on the pubs. Open them up on the 1st and people won't be too panicked. Plenty of time for a leisurely pint. Instead if it opens on the 18th December I'll be booking in for all of Christmas. The family won't even see me. Ah lads what's the world coming to?

    Just back from the offfey.

Does anyone know of any Zoom pubs or links to them? I would love to shoot the breeze with some random people over a gallon of canned stout tonight.

Think the idea that's going around regarding Level3/2 is idiotic and going to be mayhem. Will some places even bother opening with all the hassle ?

At this stage I doubt anyone seriously believes Level-2 is an actual prospect.

It's 100% certain to be level 2 or lower over Xmas.
    I can't wait for a creamy pint.

I was in town late last Saturday night and you really need to be watching yourself. There is a lot of lowlife hanging around and the vibe is not great after 10pm. Be careful with it, I did not feel comfortable at all. It is eerily quiet and as I said there are plenty of opportunists lurking around.

Try to stay local if at all possible.

I didn't blame everything on pubs

This is the pub thread. People are saying that there is no proof that of cases coming from pubs.

I am happy to talk about schools but it would be off topic here I feel ;)

I'm surprised at that. You don't seem to have any problem conflating pubs with restaurants. Or making other random claims with zero evidence.

You obviously also seem to feel that facts are off topic since you completely ignore that pubs have been found responsible for about 0.3% of covid clusters.

Hello. Yes. The evidence that the closures and limitations on public houses has been effective is most conclusive.

Where are you obtaining such information from and what is the comparable evidence that opening schools has been similiarly good for the levels of covid is the community

Hello. The data was kindly provided by the post MOH in the posting directly above mine. (they may also have the comparable data for schools settings)

I don't feel facts are off topic. I brought facts to the thread.

    And that's a fact! :pac:

will any gigs or festivals or concerts be open in summer 2021? nightclubs in summer 2021?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,070 ✭✭✭Dickie10

i think pubs should probably just stay shut over xmas, feck it at this stage i dont miss them anymore, maybe shut them for good and keep NYPHET happy, they have broken me anyway, really dont care anymore, let them take it all if thats what they want, they would be happy as Larry for us to be doing this in 2 years time from now. Thats the actual scary thing.

Gigs I could perhaps see in late summer as they are outdoors. Nightclubs I think unlikely for quite a while unless we get a big vaccination take-up.

Gigs may also depend on the Artists themselves

will it be financially viable to tour in 2021 with restrictions in place that will affect attendances etc

Love my gigs and really hope i can return to them at some stage in 2021

Yeah will be tricky won't it. Some bands will need a load of euro countries all ready for then to tour. At least we've a lot of great Irish acts to keep us entertained.

Pubs and gigs was basically my life pre covid! Saw some gigs get moved to 2022 this week. Ugh.
