4.83kWp south facing, Dublin Fingal, 10kWh battery

    June Stats

    694kWh generated (vs 626kWh for June 22)

    208kWh exported (70% solar self-consumption)

    9kWh imported (9kWh day, 0kWh night)

34.7kWh generated best day (14th June)

9.1kWh generated worst day (27th June)

    0kWh natural gas heating

Month of records. Highest ever daily and monthly generation since install.

My new method of using force discharge to smooth over the Zappi stop/start on cloud days is paying dividends too and has decreased grid import. Also particularly handy for dumping energy into the EV in the morning when you're going to be out for day.

Over ten months on the Solar trail now. Figures are in for the month of June from a 4Kw system on an even East : West split. Based in South Dublin. No battery. 5kW inverter:

    • Total generated: 509.58 kWh
    • Highest day:  3rd  25.56 kWh
    • Lowest day: 23rd  8.96 kWh

That’s just up by two kWh from what we generated over the entire month of May! The movement through the seasons continues to be really evident and we are moving nicely through the peak generation period.

In other good news, we also got a payment from SSE Airtricity of around €160.00 during June as part of the Clean Export Guarantee. Nice to see that land into the account.

25kWh or so seems to be the maximum daily generation we are getting from our system. We got that consistently during those amazingly sunny days we had in early June.

I still plan to do a one year write up in August, to summarise our experience. Will have the full year’s data from my App around 7th August.

    Cheers

    g

You charging an EV? Seems a large import with such a big battery otherwise?

Impressive numbers. Were you away on holidays given the large export or do you normally consume circa 500kWh pm?

Normally consume in or around those numbers in summer

We only used 330kWh last month between gaff (excluding cooking) and including car. That just usage, not what solar produced. It's lowest usage ever I expect. Didn't use car much.

Best unit rate of electricity is no unit rate bought :)

That is very impressive ECO MENTAL, what was your projected production for June ?

I have a 6.8 kwh system here in mid cork north of macroom. I generated 792 kw and the projected was 720 kw.

    I have a 6.08 kwh system, not 6.8kwh. Sorry 😞

For a very wet July, the overall results are OK. Better than April (446.2kWh)

Some expensive electricity purchase needed this month😖

Excluding PSO, I will need to pay for electricity this month (using inverter data) 🤔

And the HDF estimate mostly agrees

Almost 200kwh down on June which was extraordinary so not to bad considering all the wet days

717kwh compared to 909kwh in June so broadly in line with the others; 34% exported mainly due to being away from the house for extended periods (CEG (deemed for now) to the partial rescue!)

    8.4Kw in the north west (2.5Kw E, 2.5Kw S, 3.4Kw W)

857Kwh for July, down from 1066Kwh in June. Which i'm surprised by given how rainy and overcast the month was!

  • Registered Users Posts: 880 ✭✭✭eclipsechaser

1111kWh for July from a 10.4kWp and 6kW inverter pointed south in south Dublin. June was 1280kWh. I'm surprised there wasn't more of a drop-off but I guess the over-spec kept the numbers more steady than most.

6.84kWp south facing, Roscommon. 4.8kw battery.

    Jul 2023

756kWh generation (last July was 765, but don't remember the weather being as sh1te as this summer)

    Total consumption 691kWh.

118.1kWh to Eddi (mostly using immersion for HW during the summer, that's another 11l of oil saved)

    200 kWh exported

    89kWh imported (no day/night meter)

    35kWh generated best day (5th & 25th)

    7.5kWh generated worst day (8th)

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,174 ✭✭✭irishchris

    Generation down on June.

    Generation: 999 kWh

    Import: 7.7kwh -- €3.52

    Export: 498kwh -- €124.50

955kWh for me in July. 4kWp East and 4kWp West.

Imported 11kWh which is my lowest month yet, still adjusting settings.

All electric house and an EV doing about 2,000km a month.

    301kWh exported.

  • Registered Users Posts: 21,737 ✭✭✭✭ELM327

701kWh from 8.2kWp SSE array. minimal (sub 10kWh) export, leaving my total export for the year ending 9th Sep 22-8th Sep 23 to date to 850kWh.

Poor for July and far off May and June production. June was just at the 1mwh mark for comparison. Average of 22.5kWh per day, more than enough to leave me off grid for the month except some night time charging of EVs, but there was one unexpected bad weather day after another bad day and I ended up using some day rate.
