This "An Pust" woman is starting to do my bloody head in. Why can't she pronounce the name of the company she's advertising?!

On the other hand, the Barry's Tea Toy Train ad is back once again and I still love it.

No Dublin Crystal or whatever your company's name is, I won't give my friends a piece of Dublin. You can stick your diddly-eye jingle where the Sun doesn't shine...and no, I don't mean the tenements and two-up-two-downs which still have a bang of tuberculosis off them.

    Oh here's Barry's tea ad.

    (has it been on already?)

Have we finally arrived at Ground Zero? Audi's current Ad featuring special occasions starts with - whether it's the arrival of your first born (cue crying baby); with next up your big day (wedding bells etc.) and I forget the rest but it's an interesting message they are putting out i.e. cart before horse. The great majority of births in Ireland are still to married couples according to the CSO.

I thought it was the day you where born, up you your wedding day... Not having a baby first

Now I wouldn't be a"yellow vest" a Shinner, AntiFee or have any strong anti establishment views. But I'm getting really tired of every second advert on the radio ending with the phrase "government of Ireland". Just identify your department and leave us to deduce that you are associated with the government.

AIB have long been known for tone deaf advertising. A few years ago they had the oul lad and his yank missus finishing their mortgage in the height of the negative equity crisis.

Or the single mother in her 50s finishing the payments on the 3 bed semi in what looked like a Castleknock level area. A single mother in 2020 wouldn't be given a mortgage to buy in Darndale these days.

Just heard it again and it is "whether it's your first born..." followed by your big day.. Pedantic on my part but to me it smacks of the pc agenda at work.

The Barry's tea ad - one of those "black and white" ads. That is you either like it or don't. I've always disliked it, but I can understand the appeal to others.

On a more positive note - none of the bothar goat this year? Have bothar finally dropped the little sh*t for good? Perhaps working form home, i'm not listening to as much commuter radio as before. Can anyone else confirm if they have heard the ad yet?

Is it still the 1980's in your neck of the woods?

Getting upset about babies born outside of wedlock in 2020

This is Angela Scanlon I think. Also the pronounced voicing on 'love', almost 'Send them Luuuvffe' - annoys me each time I hear it.

Not nearly as much as that ad though for Iarnrod Eireann. 'BookaticketbookaticketBookaticketbookaticketBookaticketbookaticketBookaticketbookaticketBookaticketbookaticket'.

If in the car with my wife, it will be a race to switch station as soon as it comes on.

Not strictly advertising but when it comes to crass commercialism "The 12 iphones of Christmas" on Newstalk takes some beating. What great brain came up with that amazing idea?

Another teeth grating Ad is the new Hyundai one with a background track that sounds like a vinyl record stuck in a groove. :(

What's wrong with it though, it's a station giveaway, bit of a bonus for the listener? Hardly crass commercialism, they're a commerical station and why would they turn down the opportunity to giveaway one of the most sought after items?
