Penalty reversed, England stay on +6.

Some of the calls from the ref are confusing as fcuk...I'm seeing an infringement pinged and a few minutes later the exact same thing happens no call from the ref...rugby is getting harder to watch, with the standard of reffing being so utterly inconsistent

Fair play to the Italians. They were unlucky with two of the scores. Put some decent passages of play in.

Hard not to think of the late try conceded last week.
    Really hope it's not a factor !

Thinking realistically, Italy were never going to stop England getting the BP. That scoreline is about as much as we could hope for in reality. France have to really go for it and throw the ball around for a BP win. We just have to win by 7, that's ... hard but not impossible. That's not as bad a situation to be in as could have been.

Of course that lst minute try last week is more infuriating now...

Well then, game plan has changed significantly. Expect it to be tight and cagey with bonus point no longer needed. Let's hope O'Mahony's brainfart last week doesn't prove the difference...

O'Mahony shouldn't have knocked it on but he also set up the try for Aki. Us winning or losing the tournament won't be on him.

A neck roll and a reversed penalty at the end. That one looks like it is going to prove rather costly...

Off now to kick a few lumps out of the idiotic flea bitten non rugby types who obviously think trick n treating is more important than, well, rugby :pac:

See you all at 8PM :)

So according to the pundits Ireland wins 6 nations if we win by 6?

Yes as we have score more tries than England so if level on points its most tries

We've both scored 14 though? Is it TBPs? England have 1 to our 2.

Is it assuming we score at least one try tonight and surpass 14?

It's certainly not beyond the bounds of possibility, were we to win by exactly 6 points and without scoring a try, we would share the title with England in what would be the least satisfying conclusion to any tournament in history.

What do Ireland need to score to win it out?

Literally an 8-0 win would do it

Win by 6 points of we score a try. Win by 7 if we dont.

Worth remembering that France won't care that we can possibly win the championship they need a TBP and a 31 point victory, they'll be going mad for tries from the off

So if nobody in particular were to theoretically have not spilled an easy catch from a restart, we'd actually be ahead of England on PD right now?

This game is going to be mental. I haven't seen enough from Ireland to be confident and whilst France can still implode at times their try scoring calibre is a measure beyond ours currently.

England really missed that warm up game, they didn't look ready for a pretty determined and hard working Italy.

Pivac is under pressure now I'd say, Wales look poor but ultimately I don't think they've the players anymore.

Scotland were the team post world cup that have surprised me the most. Thought they were in a very bad place but they've had a good six nations and were unlucky not to beat us in the end.

    Looking forward to kick off.

Anyone post the maths? What do Ireland need to win by?

Anyone post the maths? What do Ireland need to win by?

Win by 6 having scored a try, or more 7 points.

Anyone post the maths? What do Ireland need to win by?

    One of

A TBP win by any margin.

A 7 point win (if they dont score a try)

    A 6 point win if scoring 1, 2, 3 tries

Lots of people should be looked at for blame before O'Mahony. Heffernan for failing to lift, Sexton for missing the tackle allowing a line break and Stockdale for generally making a miss at the one on one situation. Tracking it all the way back to the restart is absurd.

Apart from the year everyone won the title (1973).
