Laois right in the middle of that blob of snow. I'll bag it up and keep it in the freezer it if it happens, might not see any for the rest of winter :p

Gonna retreat a little bit from my own forecast earlier of 5 - 10 cm.

    I'll go with 2 - 4 cm generally.

I still think think there will be a nice surprise for some in the south as well tomorrow evening but it looks hit and miss and will be a 'nowcast'. As GL mentions variables are the right side broadly but where will the focus of precipitation be?

Very difficult, if not impossible, to be anything other than vague on this one.

Which only contributes to the fun :)

not tracking much but is this just for weekend or can we expect it to fall into next week Monday etc ? as weather seems all over the place rainy mild, to frosty but not dipping below 0 in most areas, for last couple weeks. disaster when it comes to getting flu when these changes happen daily.

You will still have work Monday

Freezing levels dropping overnight and seem to have a corridor of best possibility move up through the SW through Clare, Galway , Connaught in general , North Midlands and into the Northern counties. ECM not going for much accumulations apart from the W and NW, N for now. Think there will be increasingly widespread wintry showers of rain, sleet and snow overnight into tomorrow. The front should make landfall in the mid morning into the SW and from this we should get more concentrated falls of Sleet and snow and rain . Might even get hail and lightning along Atlantic coasts. Sunday again ECM showing from mid morning the W getting a good pasting of snow, heavy in places and moving up to the NW and N in the afternoon into the evening.

The flu is a virus. You don't get it from changeable weather.

5C in Galway. Doesnt feel snowy just yet.

It feels a lot colder this evening than it has previous evenings near Bandon... Ninja snow again like last year (or year before) maybe!??!?!

Jean byrne on the forecast there . She said there track of the system on Sunday is still uncertain however it now looks like rain and sleet in the south will turn to Snow over much of Connaught

Midnight Sunday according to the UKMET.
    fax36s_yrr3.gif

I think expect a wintry mix but mostly rain in lower elevations and in the south.

Yeah the showers will be on and off.

Maybe a bit more prolonged just before sunrise but with temps holding above freezing away from high ground for most any deposits won't be hanging around.

We had decent snowfall the last two winters, this snow shield “banter” is getting boring.

After each shower it gets colder but then gets clear and milder. Odd
