There is a problem that no government will fix, the aging population and increased life expectancy along with competition from global markets driving down relative wealth in Europe and North America.

No party will fix these issues, we will bitch about the effects of the above for the next 100 years and blame successive governments but noone will be able to reverse it.

Greens...we must save the planet and I want to be taxed to death for the honor.

Wealth is relative. The market assigns monetary worth. If a car costs 500 to build it's the market charges you 20,000.
Everything can be tackled if we 'change the way we do business'.

    2. FF
    3. Greens

    4. Independent

    Rest did not score

    Meaningless twaddle as per usual.

Your modus operandi is to bitch and moan about the Government of the day but you have nothing to offer as an alternative except empty platitudes and money-tree economics.

Take your bitter lies and spin elsewhere. If you don't want to discuss things jog on.
My comment was hopeful, if you could understand it.

Do people think that if the Greens gave Ryan the heave-ho they could get a more forward thinking leader whose answer isn't simply !!!TAXES!!!

One of the biggest problems the electorate have is that all non FF/FG parties are put in little boxes by FF/FG spin. There's more to Ireland than dis the Greens than raising taxes for naught. Maybe Blanch could fill us in but I was just on their website and not for profit banking model sounds interesting, tax incentives for new tech start ups, toll exemption for electric vehicles and the like.
We are small enough that we could change the way we do things in a relatively short period.

Seen the green MEPs have voted for ireland to lose it's tax veto. This is obvious the EU was coming for this anyway. I think what will save it for Ireland longer is the upcoming dramas of the next countries to leave the EU.

It might be worth considering people eligible to work?

No point counting infants in the population figures and expecting them to work.

Loads of Independent TDs lead to weak governments and dozens of competing agendas.

It's better to vote for a party.

What if some believe in the same ideas as some of those independents?

Independents largely hold the same view as some political party. They aren't inventing anything new.

They just don't want to be associated with a political party (toxic brand)..... or they had a falling out.

Most of our Independents would be Fine Gael, Labour or Fianna Fail in everything but name.

People should have the right to vote for anyone they wish. Major parties, as mentioned, will do just fine in the next ge

I'm not trying to ban Independents :)

But a parliament full of Independents is a recipe for frequent elections.
