The rest are good choices, but Melbourne?

I like Melbourne too. Melbourne can give some mixed up results, there is also the excitement after waiting for months for racing. It usually looks good with the sun, the trees and water. The early morning schedule I enjoy too. When its a bad race it can be a bit of a downer of course

Great question, In the order they were originally scheduled I'd have: Azerbaijan, Canada, Austria, Britain, Belgium, Singapore, Japan and Brazil.

I would have similar but I would have Budepest instead of Singapore.

    Peace and long life.

The 1st 4 races of the season being cancelled does indicate that F1 will experience an overwhelmingly difficult period in where they have their fans that the whole competition is in jeopardy. I have come to a realistic conclusion that F1 has effectively been ruined this year by Coronavirus. The FIA & FOM have told their fans recently through their website that the season, which is due by their word, by the end of May is constantly been put under review.
    /snip/
But I am very happy to wait it out for a year or more if Coronavirus has the potential to bring mass misery to F1 for this year.

I don't see any issues with the cancellation of the races itself, the recession will hit F1 hard no doubt, but the when looking at the cancellation itself every sport has to deal with that atm FE, UEFA, FIFA, GAA ... When the ban on sporting events is lifted everyone will flock back to them as there is simply no replacement for them in sight.

Yeah the optics can be good and they tend to get unreliability because it's the first race, but the racing is reliably terrible. Like 5 overtakes all race but if it was moved to mid season it'd be as boring as Monaco.

It's absolutely necessary to be first race. If it wasn't first race it would be a pretty Paul Ricard

I know it's not quite the same but I remember Estoril being playable on Formula 1 '97 on Playstation even though the GP was cancelled that season.

And if you changed your name to 'Billy Bonus' you unlocked mirror images of the Adelaide and Aida circuits (the names were reversed to Edialeda and Adia)

I think it also unlocked a 1960's version of Silverstone (it was the normal 1997 track, not the 1960's version, but it was in black and white and the cars were 60's cigar style) and a track shaped like an F1 car.

    I loved that feckin' game!
Twas ages since I last played an F1 game, which was a good few years ago on my Xbox 360.

Has anyone played F1 2019 and is it good? Might pick it up to fill the void of having no live F1 on the TV for the moment

You can get f1 2018 on Xbox game pass, not a huge difference to 2019 bar the drivers

Taking a moment to remember Charlie Whiting.
Lost from us one year ago today.

    Thank you Charlie.

Lando and Vandoorne the two biggest names. Ex-Renault Academy men Jarno Opmeer and Sacha Fenestraz also joined up and oddly Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois all signed up as well as pro eSport drivers and a few youtubers

Monaco’s government has announced that “restaurants, cafes, concert halls, cinemas, casinos and nightclubs” will “close until further notice.” No one in F1 expects the race to happen and that’s pretty much sealed it

Big fan of the Gran Turismo championships myself.

Meanwhile, a member of Pirelli who self isolated in Melbourne has tested positive.

Staff members of McLaren are all now clear of covid-19. Andreas Seidl stayed with them in Australia during this as well, fair play.
And depending on when the season is able to start, this year's championship could even run into the start of 2021, with next year's title race starting later than normal.

As a result, team bosses have discussed delaying the introduction of a massive regulation change planned for next season until 2022, and racing through this year and next with the current cars.

There could also be limits on development in certain areas of the cars, as another way to keep costs down.

This would be a way of cutting costs for all teams, and especially a help for the smaller teams, the survival of some of which could be at risk if the drop in the sport's overall income is large enough.

The plan to postpone the 2021 rules was backed by nine of the 10 teams in a teleconference on Tuesday, with only Ferrari asking for more time to consider the matter.

So we might not see the new rules come into play until 2021.
