This is so wrong. Its absolutely outrageous.

They broke the law, entered the country by causing criminal damage and completely disappear.

So basically as its stands the government have no way of tracking illegal immigrants in the county.

What if they are terrorists?

We need to know who is behind this crowd, then we can tackle their funders/idealogues. They sound a bit odd to me with their 8 million vision. But of course the MSM never questions them. Why is that?

Who are they, who funds them, and why are they so vocal? It is such a mystery to me anyway.

Well based on your original figure of increasing the population to 10 million by means of asylum seekers in say 20 years which other poster have mentioned that would mean we need to bring in 250000 per year or 685 people per day.

That would mean almost 4 full airplanes per day arriving in ireland with only asylum seekers.

I think its safe to say this won't be and isn't happening?

Thanks. I do not see it reported in any one of these links that the perpetrator was an asylum seeker. There are 2 reports where they are described as ‘non-nationals’ so could be any nationality. The taxi driver’s nationality is not mentioned but he does have what I presume you think is a funny name so must be a refugee.

There are 2 Egyptians who I see were employed legally, presumably through work visas, again not asylum seekers.

There’s a Congolese man, but again, not an asylum seeker.

One of them has an Irish passport, not an asylum seeker, despite the foddin name.

Have you anything better, because that’s simply a collection of court reports about non-Irish people, all of them I presumes with dark skin. I see a dozen stories in my local paper every week about white non-Irish but there are zero calls to ship home these people en masse.

I never said asylum seekers. You would want to pretty dumb to commit a crime while waiting for citizenship but they are migrants who most likely claimed asylum at some stage unless they applied for a job on the critical skills list

Have to clarify that it was'nt MY figure.

Mine would be in the lower hundreds,but the industry sources appear to think we need approx 500,000 in short order,so I would'nt be feeling too safe.

Once the tap is turned on and shown to carry water,then the flow can be increased at will.

The issue of Irelands "need" to expand is debatable in itself,but apparently any expansion must be free from inspection,classification or refusal on any grounds.

To check every single container would be a huge task. Not saying it's impossible but it is improbable.

You can't deport someone who claims asylum.

Traffickers are devious, ruthless well resourced criminals. You may be able to get them to change their business model, putting them out of business is another matter.

To go down what looks like a tinfoil had stance. Peter Sutherland was a big advocate of mass immigration. Himself and Coveney were very close and used to attend Bilderberg Meetings together.

It's worth remembering that the conventions around international protection were nobly arrived at by willing states, in an effort to offer safe haven to those who would literally arrive battered and bruised over any border. Fearing for their lives and those of their families in some cases. A worthy commitment by those offering safe haven you'll agree.

What we are being served up now however is farcical. Driven on by those employed throughout that industry, refusing to accept that what is going on is clearly blackguarding.

Those who arrive to Ireland as part of sanctioned and agreed resettlement are very very welcome (I think so anyway) and would be offered a warm handshake, protection, a friend and a leg up by most Irish?

I say agreed resettlement because it's very difficult to scramble and crawl seeking protection in Ireland. We're an island so sorry, it's impossible to be fleeing anywhere really and Ireland is the option that your desperate situation has to rely on in your hour of need.

No, what we are getting generally by those who arrive on flights and containers is complete chancers who are preinformed about what to say and what to demand.

The sooner we call it out at a political level the better. Stop pretending. No one is being fooled and it's only creating more angst.

You can if they enter illegally from a safe country. If someone breaks into a container and enters from France, and they are not in danger in France, they can be deported.

Can you point and link to the relevant legislation where it states they can?

I would like to see it. Currently the legislation states If they enter the country illegally, we cannot take action if they have come directly from where their lives or freedom were threatened, therfore, they have come illegally from a safe country we can prosecute.

I am quite happy to email my TD and send him a copy of the relevant legislation. I will also be asking him to seek clarification from the department of justice why no action was taken. I will also ask him to point out to the Dept of Justice that by failing to enforce the law they are actively encouraging illegal immigrants to pay vaats sums of money to be smuggled into the country as they know they will be accepted regardless.

One of the advantages of 21st Century living is the ability to Lobby our representatives in real-time.

Boards.ie members are lucky in that their divergent views are monitored by the denizens of Leinster House.

The representatives who do place their faces & names on TV are indeed doing their representative job,largely on the back of what they are hearing and seeing on their campaigns.

The operation of the Dublin Convention is often misunderstood,as is it's status,however suggesting that these people be returned to their place of origin after being medically checked and interviewed appears a very sensible course of action to many here in Ireland.
