"Stop saying Fatboy Slim in there!"
Speaking for my people, no thanks.

    It's the anti-R.word.

    FATBOY SLIM
    FATBOY SLIM
    FATBOY SLIM
    FATBOY SLIM
    FATBOY SLIM

say his name 5 times and he will appear

I know a lot don't like him but Norman Cook is doing the rounds this year again, last EP visit was 2013 I think?

Any chance of a housemartins reunion tour?

Think there was a Caravan of Love in the Trailer Park last year.
    Seemed to be very popular.

How many times do we have to say the R-word? We must have hit the one million mark by now.

Just looking at that poster - he's billed as an 'acoustic solo performance'.
Unlike his current Tomorrow’s Modern Boxes tour, where the Radiohead frontman is accompanied by Nigel Godrich and visual artist Tarik Barr, his set at Victoria Park will see him take the stage solo – performing tracks from his own back-catalogue as well as Radiohead’s in a never-seen-before way.

    Colour me intrigued...

I'm definitely considering a weekend trip now.
Sat: Tame Impala, Caribou, Glass Animals, Whitney, the Avalanches, Rolling Blackouts CD, Kelly Lee Owens
Sun: Massive Attack, Thom Yorke, Young Fathers

That, for me, is better than most full weekend festival line-ups.

Very tempted too - only thing holding me back is the experience at APE last year, sound was abysmal and the organisation was pretty poor.

Closest you’ll get is the Heaton/Abbott tour, they do some housemartins, beautiful south with their own stuff, saw a few years ago, well worth it.

Yeah, the brother in law has seen them a few times, loves them. Have they ever hit the festival circuit? They'd be a great early evening slot on the Sunday. Their tour dates this year seem to dry up in early July. I know they're doing Trinity.

Here for a few gigs in April, setlists very good. Confirmed for a few Summer festivals, including Primavera Sound, up to 4 July and a strong rumour for Glastonbury. Fair chance of an appearance at an Irish festival.

I'd welcome them with open arms if they were obligated to play tunes from the first two albums

Maybe one or two songs from the third album, and the beards need to be there too.

Decent enough albums, but deathly dull live even when those albums were fresh. Oxegen 2004 was a dirge.

Am shocked they're at Primavera. The Beautiful South are one of the worst bands on the planet, just so dreadfully dull and MOR

Probably true, albeit with the odd decent tune. I guess Primavera and Glastonbury also want some of the Housemartins stuff he plays.

They're playing the 3Arena, Belfast, Galway & Killarney so they've got an audience somewhere. Tempted to go and check them out, though with reservations.

Heaton also remains a good socialist, which works for me. Reflected in the pricing of their UK and Irish tour - all tickets £30/€39.

It used to be a thing with Field Day there also. Noise restrictions after 8pm is the issue. Lots of residential housing close by. The sound is turned down and it often makes for a bad end to the day. No problems with sound before 8 in my experience.

It's a shame that it appeared to go so badly last year - the Strokes day, in particular, seemed to be a bit of a disaster.

I went in year 1 for LCD Soundsystem, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, etc and it was brilliant. Only complaint was the length of bar queues late in the day but before about 8pm or 9pm, it was fine.

Sound was great, bands well staggered, an all round success... I was very surprised to hear so many bad reports from last year's edition!

Maybe listen to the lyrics more? they are a lot darker than people think.

That said, they are not for everybody so I can understand why you have that opinion :)

Went both years and enjoyed both. I am partial to the occasional half glass of ale though!
