Is there any way of knowing of that's a genuine 1 owner in Ireland?
Says 0 previous owners in the advert but that could mean UK import with only one Irish owner?
Looks a good honest car, decent runabout for a family for handy money. Low miles too.

It’s an import, they didn’t sell the 1.8 manual here.

It's on an expiring NCT (Jan 21), but you don't see many of these at this end of the price bracket.

Another one here in a slightly less noisy colour with slightly lower mileage

    Lovely interior in that one.
Unique colour but is it me or just my phone does the driver door look a slightly different shade though?

Think it might just be a reflection from the wall opposite the car

I'm near sure I saw that on here back in 2019. If you had 2k to lose it would be some car if it worked out. The dodgy aftermarket exhaust gives a hint of the life it may have had.

I doubt you’d be pushing a 500 too hard on Irish roads. What a way to blow €2k though.

Not sure if same cl500 but I remember very similar one being drived nuts by youngers in walkinstown area time ago...

Respectable looking 05 Civic with the guts of a years NCT and a bit of tax, €500

You'd still get about 200 quid for it with no NCT next year. Handy cheap runaround for someone

1.4 TDI A2 with NCT all the way to February 2022 and a bit of tax, €1250

Impressive/crazy miles but it looks remarkably well for it. Irish from new and 2 owners is a good sign too IMO

Mileage history on NCT cert looks believable as well. Future classic?

1250 euro is a bit too ambitious for that, no way that car is worth 4 figures.

Do a quick search for A2s for sale in ireland on DD. I think it’s priced well. €1k cash would get it.

How is a 17 year old car a classic?

How is a 17 year old car a classic?
Please share your expertise, what defines a classic or future classic?
I think the engineering in an A2 certainly pushes it up the list.
It was Audi pushing what could be done with aluminium that has lead to its widespread use in cars now, prior to the A2, aluminum was considered ok for flat(ish) body panels but wasn’t widely used for structural elements in everyday cars.
Audi never expected the A2 to be a sales success, it was just a stepping stone.

What are you waffling on about?

Ring your insurance company tomorrow and tell them you want insure a 17 year old classic car.

Read out what you wrote there to them and see how you get on.

You still haven’t defined what you think a classic (or future classic) is. Classic cars are not defined by what an insurance company worker thinks (lets face it, mostly 18-25 year olds working in a call centre, reading from a script. Tapping a reg number into a computer only to get the “answer is no” response).
If that’s the only answer you can come up with........
As I’ve said before, your user name should be Row Starter.

I admire the A2's styling etc. But that car has 284k miles. It's literally been driven to the moon, and then some.
