Sounds to me like someone who had their mechanic look at the car after they bought it rather than before.

Thanks is there any chance of a link or even what to type into amazon. With my luck I'd get the wrong one or maybe end up with a toaster :-(

Sounds like the same issue we had with our V50 years ago - ignition switch was faulty.

Happened the day before it was being traded in, so it ended up going on a truck to the Volvo dealer we bought the new car from. Think the cost was €710 from memory, which was back in 2013, so probably over €1,000 now - although that's main dealer Volvo pricing.

Different mechanic thinks that it's too. Reckons it's a main dealer only job, it has to be programmed in after fitting.

Anyone want a V50 for parts lol.

The 4450 advert was for a Honda Accord originally. Must have sold it, left the ad up and changed pictures and description, but the bit that looks very dodgy is that both the Accord and the Octavia have the very same mileage.

    2008 Octavia 1.9TDi with cheap tax (280 p.a)
Changed hands recently, so it's a trader
DSG box in it, but mileage looks very low for a diesel @122k miles
    NCT until December
    Asking €1050
(eyes wide open, but could be a great cheap car if it checks out)

    Another Octavia
    This one is a 2006 1.4 petrol
    179k kms
    NCT until April 2021
Same owner for last 4 years and ad states timing belt has been done
    Asking €650

    Original unmolested 1997 1.4 Civic
    91k miles
    NCT until November
    Timing belt replaced at 81k
Rear headlining looks a bit saggy, but seems to be a genuine original car
Seller says he will accept €800

If he used the same ad after the Accord was sold he may have overlooked updating the mileage for the Octavia. On the face of it I wouldn't read too much into that. Down to €1,300 now. At this rate it'll be €500 before the weekend is out. Needs an injector to sort out smokey engine were told and some minor rust below passenger door but if thats genuinely all that wrong then its surely a bargain. Seems an honest ad to be fair.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,626 ✭✭✭Mad_Mike

It does seem honest alright and more than likely that's all that happened with the mileage
That's got to be worth that kind of money all day long, even if it needs an injector sorted

Tidy looking Integra with NCT til February 2021 and tiny miles, €2000

Probably next to impossible to insure, but it looks a nice example. Would very much like this

No it does not. Just change it, the intelligence is in the fuse board (CEM) and because it is a funny plastic key all you do is fit it.

    Is the car available still?

Best hope for that integra is to garage it for 10 years until the shell is worth something. Imagine trying to insure it for what it is... ugh.

160HP and a economy engine so 16v engine which closes 4 to make it 12valve at low RPM so I suppose some sort of VTEC but economy version and nothing on exhaust cams.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,898 ✭✭✭selectamatic

K20a3 engine most probably in the integra similar to the engine in the accord of the time.

The Americans actually make decent power with them by swapping the cam assemblies from true vtec engines into them and locking them in vtec, its called the "vtec killer" mod it has to be tuned on a hondata as well to run right.

    They can make over 200bhp.

There's lots of cheap k24 parts in America though so stuff like this isn't really viable from a cost perspective over here.

The slushbox is the big let down in that integra.
