Why is MB claim against AirLingus nowhere on the web? Did she get it removed, somehow, GDPR?

It was settled out of court.

I listened to her Sean O'Rourke interview, God she's totally in denial and totally wrapped up in herself and her own little bubble of victimhood.

She sounds like needs a long break from politics, maybe six months or a year to get her overloaded head back to earth. Sounds like somebody heading for a nervous breakdown, and she can't see it, because she is the victim of a smear campaign and somebody's out to get her (in her mind) .........

Take some time out & switch off would be my advice.

Sealed case/settlement? I'm not a lawyer though so just guessing.

If it was settled out of court wouldn't it still be reported on and on record ?, like.... "MB settled her case against AirLingus".. Although when a case is Settled the amount is not normally revealed, ' an undisclosed sum '.... Sealed'? , never heard of that! If it was sealed does that mean no one would be able to report or publish anything about it?

Getting a payout is like a miracle at Lourdes, the affliction magically disappears.

Does the same apply for loss of limb?

Crazy! But we were gullible suckers in the Bertie/ global boom era where we were all financial wizards! We were under debted ? and an expensive health care system was draining our new found riches so we/him created a brand new health care industry . Now with the money we give you you buy your health care as you need it . We can’t undo it as hundreds will lose their jobs in the insurance industry and we don’t have a state health service to step in.
    Sorry for the rant ?

    Extremely feeble response from Varadkar.

Has he had 'the chat' with her already?
I thought he might at least suspend or repremand her.

But she didn't, and she hasn't.

So, on what facts should she be thrown out of the party.

BTW, I'm not posting to wind people up. I get the outrage. I have similar views. I'm just trying to get to the reasons why FG can **** her out of the party.

She told SOR she has instructed her solicitors to change that, only when she was called on it, she must only have changed it after the public questioning.

Also the three years ago is bollox, that would have had to be submitted within 2 years of the incident or it would be statue barred. If she was (she wasn't) only claiming for medical the claim would have been submitted when her treatment was finished which assumably was before she ran the 10k so details would be very clear in her head.

She claims she was only claiming medical expenses, which is more bollox as the hotel offered about €700 for this, she was claiming it was €7,000 and her claim was €60,000. If her claims about not recalling timelines is true then she waited until just before the statue of limitations which is what lawyers do if there are claims for non medical.

An affidavit is a sworn written legal declaration of facts in advance of a trial, to lie on it can be treated as perjury. Her solicitor would have prepared this with her, she would read it and have her signature witnessed by a commissioner of oaths. It is absolute bollox she got the timeline wrong, she should be aware and if not it should have been explained to her hwo vital it is to have the information correct in it due to the implications of lying on it.

The whole thing is one big lie including perjury.

I heard a statistic yesterday from a doctor on RTÉ 1 that the vast majority (95%+) don't continue with their physio appointments once the compensation has been paid and the court case finalised. The compensation culture in Ireland is one huge scam.

Lying on the affidavit to score a settlement then planning to change it if it ever gets before a judge is pretty scummy behaviour.

Fair play to the hotel for not letting their insurance company settle. Supermacs were getting taken to the cleaners with settled claims until the owner decided that all claims would be settled in court. Payouts dropped 60%

    Claim culture at its best

    https:www.independent.ie/irish-news/all-whiplash-patients-who-attended-spine-specialist-took-legal-action-and-most-stopped-visiting-after-legal-action-finished-study-says-38158620.html
A new study has found 100pc of Irish whiplash patients attending a spine specialist pursued legal action.

The researchers examined all the whiplash cases attending a specialist spine surgeon in Ireland over a 15-year period.

The NUI Galway study found the visits to the specialist stopped in almost all cases when the legal action was finalised.

The authors said: "Of note, despite the reported severity of whiplash symptoms, only a small proportion of patients returned for a further consultation once their litigation settled."

I want to know was Josepha Madigan involved. Has she denied any involvement to date?

    Please explain why he's useless?

He's presiding over some rather large problems in health, housing and quality of life and appears rather ineffectual in the face of them. If I see him on social media trying to be 'down wit da kidz' again (be it his socks or 'look at me I'm at a Spice Girls concert' schtick), I think I'll have to take up heroin to numb the pain.

EDIT: His unwillingness to put a metaphorical bullet in Bailey also shows a lack of steel. Both consumers and the small-business sector have had a gutful of the insurance nonsense in this country, and this has brought it to a head. He's unwilling to tackle the legal industry, the insurance industry profiteering, and the blackguards putting in frivolous claims.

Narrative on Newstalk this morning was that MB has had a tough week and this is verging on bullying. Typical rubbish from Shane Coleman. The level of discussion and focus on this case is related to the extreme anger people feel about the insurance they are being forced to pay. This is as a direct result of people like MB putting in false claims such as this.
Let there be no ambiguity here. She fell as a result of her own carelessness and decided to sue the hotel. FG are going to get trounced if they don't turf her out. Madigan does not look good here at all either. Leo is not a leader, proved it countless times

Not quite as catchy as supporting people who "get up early", but equally divisive and therefore quality deflection from the lack of real results and dodgy decisions from within his own benches

Maybe he should go with "Mission accomplished" next?

Coleman will be on in a few weeks giving out rafts about insurance claims.

She deserves to have the absolute piss ripped out of her after the stunt she's pulled.

Where did you hear this? If so, FG determined not just to shoot themselves in the foot, but to take a shotgun to their balls. Magical, glorious - the god of the political omnishambles be praised.

Bull****. Typical of Coleman and why I can't listen to that morning show, it is so bad.
There are businesses closing all over the country because of insurance hikes and we're supposed to feel sorry for this woman because she can't go on her social media anymore?
Welcome to politics. If you mess up you're out. She's a career politician and the reason she is getting defensive and not owning up to this and resigning is because she cares more about her nice public job than she does about the country or her party

What was her profession before entering Leinster House? Or was she just orbiting around FG as a councillor waiting for her big break after leaving university?

She probably has nothing to fall back on (no pun intended) if her political career goes bang.
