What is going on with Solana?! Is there something we don't know? It's like a cockroach the last few days.

And the chart looks bullish again.

The last few big dive downs were at about 3.30 / 4.00am Irish time Friday or Saturday night.

I'm going to set alarm and check if it happens again.

Take a deep breath gang, we're going for a dive.

I think at this stage the worst we will hit is about 44k. The support wall there is an army and sellers are starting to run out of steam

Go below that and close a weekly candle then there is valid talk that bull run may be over but until then it's playing out exactly how a normal correction plays out in a bull run.

    Accumulation time imo

-STOP STAKING. Absolute waste of time. What's the point of earning 20 quid a week if the price drops by 100's???

I disagree with this. This is valid if you are bearish on crypto, or not investing that much. But for a bull like most people here - accumulating 10+% to their already large bag in a year compounds your return nicely on top of the gain you get for holding anyway.

It has the added bonus of making you less likely to sell during these breathers too.

What good is that if it could be worth zero tomorrow? Nothing wrong with considereing the bearish outlook as well. I'd rather be ready to Tether up and not eat a 30% dip overnight. Then be ahead of the curve when things go bullish again.

To hell with diamond hands. Greasy goblin hands I say.

That's from the viewpoint of after timing. You make cashing out at the top seem easy. Many people thought a dip was coming, moved to Tether and bought back in at higher than they sold. If trading was that easy we'd all be millionaires.

Not forgetting that every move from crypto to a stable coin is a taxable event.

Every time you tether up, or vice versa, is a potential CGT event. I'd rather not.

How do people who mined bitcoin in the begining deal with this issue.
Like if i send my crypto to a hardware wallet can i just move it to any new wallt i set up and say i mined it?
I can create a trust wallet accountbt fairly easy and possibly a new binance account of needs be to cash out. Would all my previous transactions be hidden then?

I do agree with this. Yes you might be buying in higher again but id sacrifice less gains overall for fiat just in case it takes a massive tumble for a long time. Not talking about bitcoin here but mainly alts to be fair.
Also on the CGT, what about converting all to Monero to get rid of your tail so to speak

Better than watching it all slip away to nothing. Besides, any stop loss that triggers will be just that, a loss, to be written off. When all is said and done it might end up being a small net loss overall if things go well but I'd damn sure rather suffer that than lose it all.

Dangerous. I'm sure if you got audited they would see you went into XMR at one point and that would be a massive red flag.

If you arer being audited anyway id imagine its for not declaring so youve not really got much to lose.

I'm NOT suggesting anything here - i'm just engaging in a bit of what-if-ery..
I guess they don't care in that scenario. The world they operate in - is a centralised one - so they're looking for stuff to turn up on a statement in euro. They can do the same thing with a statement from a centralised exchange showing a conversion from one crypto to another.

There's no law against purchasing XMR ...nor is there a law against using a coin-mixer. I guess the assumption is that you continue to hold XMR (if that's what you've purchased) unless you advise them otherwise OR unless another transaction shows up that accounts for that holding (whether converted into cash or another crypto).

hmm...is there such a thing as a privacy stablecoin in defi land yet? If there isn't surely at some point, there will be. Lets say you could put €100 into such a thing. They have no traceability beyond it - but if you ultimately...much time later ...pull the €100 back out - there's no gain, no cgt. However, whos to say where your complete/initial €100 holding would have gone once it entered that privacy coin?

The same could apply with monero - but of course monero itself can move up/down relative to your base (€) currency.

I knew it was coming. Stayed away from the markets all weekend. BTC supposed to go down to test $44k. After that, hopefully only up from then on. But I'd say we're in for another bad week all round.

I won't be buying back in on any dips just yet!

I'm happy to buy now but I'm not putting much in.
Over all I don't have much in any way and not big money.

    Bought low thanks to Graham.

Will start to pump late on 28th / early 29th.

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 17,643 Mod ✭✭✭✭Graham

I think we could go lower yet, I was expecting more of a drop tbh.

    Too early to call yet

At the same time I don't expect anyone who just bought will be too disappointed by the end of next week.

Always a nervous feeling when I open kraken to see a bunch of my limit trades have been executed

Posts like this is why I follow this thread.
I check prices all day but can't be online all the time.

Others watching sharing information is important.

Well I bought what I think is low and will hold.

I dunno, I think we might be into early May before it turns around. At least for BTC anyway.

I was expecting a bit more of a price dip but i think we are going to see alot on the upside over the next few months., all the fundamentals are still good.

    +1

I'd have been happier with something a bit more dramatic today.

I wouldn't be margin trading right now :pac:
