Frawley doesn't even have a picture for the team line up graphic.

Eir sport had no image of Jimmy O'Brien at 15 so just used Seanie again.

I coughed up some popcorn chuckling at that.

Gonna say Edinburgh win. They have playoff qualification on their minds whilst Leinster's selection is geared towards getting players for for next week.

I'm inclined to agree with you - but that Leinster team is just about capable of beating Edinburgh and I'd like to see the provinces step up after Ireland disappointment.

Last weeks capitulation should be a fire in the belly for all 4 teams this weekend.

There was a try on if Bent didn't have crap hands.

I could have sworn there was an Edinburgh hand in there.

Ferocious start - nice to see an Irish team rucking aggressively.

Leinster have played some excellent rugby in this opening 5 minutes.

Need to get points from this scrum though.

Lol, Whitehouse shouted “Edinburgh back” at Watson who’s stood there, doesn’t move, makes the tackle on the line and gets “ good” from Whitehouse.

    Cue Tomane bashing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,258 ✭✭✭✭Buer

Definite penalty but I would disagree that he knew what he was doing. He was just scrambling to get back into the defensive line.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,697 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

    Was Reid dump tackled there?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,258 ✭✭✭✭Buer

That's a red card letter of law.

Second man involvement might save him.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,697 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Lifted above the horizontal, let go in the air and landed on the side of his head.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

Locked like a throw but there’s no care. Yellow.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,738 ✭✭✭✭Squidgy Black

Noel Reid absolutely flung like a rag doll into the air there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,707 ✭✭✭✭Larbre34

    Red all day.

I was about to say Reid was milking that but actually he was dropped on his head. Yellow coming up, quite possibly red.

Lands on his shoulder and head, I'd call it a red.

    Red card all day long

What was the TJ doing, he didn’t react at all.

Tomane is a bit of a brute. Tackling props and winning gainline in defence. Looks fit, aware and plenty of power on display.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,258 ✭✭✭✭Buer

They were looking for an out there. His shoulder made contact but his head bounced off the deck.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,738 ✭✭✭✭Squidgy Black

This is a perfect example of why the trial for the in-game citing commissioner is being brought in. By the rules that's a red.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,697 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Is that not a deliberate knock on?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,738 ✭✭✭✭Squidgy Black

One hand, wasn't close to controlling that for an intercept.....

This is a fabulous start from Leinster.

Clever from Matt Scott with a head like a pint of Guinness trying to destruct the lads.

    Lovely endeavour from Leinster.

Bit of Leinstertainment going on here.

Can someone explain to me why, if the exact same act by a player, which dependent on the breeze, gravity and perhaps the dimension of the player himself, results in that man landing on his head/neck or shoulder/arm with just a few cms in it, that that outcome rather than the act determines the colour of the card?

Yer lad lifted him from the lower legs straight up through the horizontal and flung him away, with no effort to check his landing. If thats not a Red, then all other player welfare efforts we hear coming down the track are boooolshyte.

Set piece couldn't be going any better.

Delighted for Cronin. Still don't know what to make of his post Italian treatment but won't do his headspace any harm bagging yet another try.

Reid staying off, should have been a red for sure.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,697 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Reid is staying off. CoB on permanently.

Front five really confounding expectations. Ed Byrne having a great start against WP Nel; his stock keeps going up.

Barry Daly is so, so handsome.

    I hate him.

McGrath has heavy strapping but looks to be moving really well.

The Mrs just said the same, also “he doesn’t look like a Barry Daly”

It would never have occurred to me that Barry Daly was handsome. My misses asked me who Josh Van der Flier was, she never asks who players are so I took that as sufficient to put him on my death list.

I still want to cuddle with Scott Fardy. Platonic cuddling.

    Leinster have defended very well.

Tomane's tackling has been rather impressive.

    Has absolutely smashed some forwards.

That's a bit if a harsh high tackle against Kearney. Edinburgh are going to be raging if they come away empty handed here.

It just shows how well coached the players are. Our defensive structures carry across regardless of who is on the lineup, the level of organisation and trust in the system as well as the ability to execute it even when we have 3rd string players out there is amazing.

Who missed the tackle on Mata there?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,697 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Josh Murphy is winning that turnover of Cronin hadn't come in at the side.

Ah good defense, shame couldn't hold out
