Would that not make more sense (insofar as any of this does)? Galway-Mayo surely a bigger draw than Cork-Laois?

I can’t see our game not being at 7
Although the last Limerick galway train departs at 750 so maybe for once they are taking supporters into consideration

They couldn't give a rats about you. If its a double header Mayo Galway will be second. Cork Laois will probably we the better game but that won't matter.

Cork Laois better than 2 Provincial Rivals playing knockout football...you need to try harder!

Yes from a footballing perspective both will try to play. Unfortunately our lads have been coached out of playing and just pack the defence or wander round aimlessly. Recent games between us have hardly been crackers.

You haven't paid any attention to Laois games this year if you think they'll be open and attacking

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,018 ✭✭✭Barlett

Well at the end of the day, Galway do play sh1t football, but it's highly effective against us.

The only thing crackers is your statement! Every neutral would prefer to watch a Mayo - Galway tie over Cork - Laois
. For intensity purposes alone never mind the quality which there will be plenty of, whether it's a hard hitting tackle or score, both teams will be going full tilt for a super 8 spot.
It's first time in a while both teams playing each other in a winner takes all and no back door to fall back on. Different ball game!!

Inevitable, once the coin toss was rejected.

    He was dead right

Well if he did he was right, don't want our season decided by whether you play with the wind in the first half or second.

There's that classic Mayo optimism, only considering 1 side of the coin flip.

Even disregarding the fact that there was a 50/50 chance to play at home, surely Pearse is an easier trip to make than Limerick for ye?

I know Salthill has many many issues but seems a bit daft to turn down the coinflip.

With Galway's recent record in Castlebar its a wonder they didn’t offer to play it in Castlebar .

Mayo are terrible in MacHale Park seeing as it's a tight pitch.
Their home form has been patchy to say the least there over the past few years.
Obviously they don't want to risk giving Galway home advantage either.
So here we are, playing in Limerick.

Not really, Limerick is a half hour further away than Salthill add the traffic etc and there's little difference.

How many Mayo qualifier games have been on Sky the last few years? They are making a mint off Mayo.
