Depends who the alternative is I guess?

Well Cluxton seems happy living in Dublin.

    :D

So no decision for management to make so.
In many ways that is easier

Cluxton at times is no great shakes under the high ball at times, but that is more than made up for by his kick-outs.
Patton`s the same and has been worth at least 3 points a game to Donegal since he took over.

Can't believe I've been dragged into discussing other counties goalkeepers on our county thread but TBF to err is human and Patton's has all the attributes to be a truly outstanding goalkeeper into the future.Very impressed with the lad.

Outside of Cluxton Beggan IMO is the standard bearer.

    Morgan is too inconsistent.

Hopefully our Robert will have a good day out tomorrow.

Many other county players have been discussed on this GAA forum
You have referenced two yourself who have been repeatedly

Patton was discussed tonight because last summer he was held up as what our number one at the time should be
    Due to his kickouts
I suggested at the time he had a weakness under the high ball and looked more like a soccer keeper at times and I would prefer Clarke
And with Clarke we went one step further into the championship last year

Tonight again we seen his weakness which like it or not cost his team the game and a valuable two points

I am clearly old fashioned in what I want my keeper to do . Not every team has a Michael Murphy to kickout out to .....

And yes hopefully our keeper (I assume it is Robbie ) tomorrow has a good game tomorrow and we sneak a win

It’s an Internet forum where we all have opinions . I am sure people think McManus is a better option than Cillain O Connor for example but I would argue against it too Cos I am contrary ;)

Ah it's very much tongue in cheek outrage on my behalf.

I've no issue discussing outsiders lol.

We're not that insular here in Mayo.

Of course this is a discussion forum and all topics are up for debate on a continual basis.

I missed the first half of tonight's game (recorded it) but on the basis of what I've seen last year and thus far this year Donegal will be involved deep into championship on the proviso they can keep Murphy fit.

    Agreed on all

That is always the proviso with Donegal tbh
He is a freak of nature and would be missed by any team
But their squad has been thin enough so losing him would be devastating
Goes to show how strong our squad was/is that we managed to get over them to reach the semis last year
And that’s why there is always a continuing debate over our keepers as well
A lot of counties don’t have that decision to make !

We could do with a bit of luck on the injury front tbh
If and it’s a huge IF we could get everyone back AND match fit by summer we will match anyone
And that includes Dublin . There is a reason they recalled Connolly and still continued to call oj McMahon , Cooper , mdma , mcmennemaon etc last summer. The lads behind them are not as good . The gap was and is closing imo

I am afraid though we will head into summer again with some lads fir and some lads half fit and other lads not even fit !

Just as important as fit, they need to keep him away from cards and the likes of John Small

The T&Cs say they lock it down to a single concurrent login. Never tested it, but imagine they'd have it locked down fairly tight.

... Though I've never seen any service being able to block Screen Sharing through stuff like Skype, that's a big challenge for them all that's very difficult for them to solve.

    Great start
Ryan o D started well again
    Flynn too

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,286 ✭✭✭seligehgit

Good start.A few chances spurned by both ourselves and Monaghan.

    Beggan struggling on the restarts.

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,286 ✭✭✭seligehgit

The underfoot conditions don't appear to be great.

Playing well but it is not showing on the scoreboard.

Lovely scores from Coen and Mc Manus.

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,286 ✭✭✭seligehgit

    Silly foul by Flynn.

Relative gimme score for Mc Manus.

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,286 ✭✭✭seligehgit

    Mullin is a class act.

    Poor defensively for the goal.

  • Registered Users Posts: 48,132 ✭✭✭✭km79

We have to work to stop giving up so many goal chances
    All the good work undone

After some great scores that was terrible defending to concede the goal.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,126 ✭✭✭PressRun

Our tackling really isn't good enough tbh

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,010 ✭✭✭Euphoriasean

Wrong ball there should have been a mutch better goal chance. Good direct play though.

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,286 ✭✭✭seligehgit

Hennelly's kickouts are very good thus far.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,010 ✭✭✭Euphoriasean

Did the ref bottle that. Diarmuid very lucky.

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,286 ✭✭✭seligehgit

Diarmuid was blessed, could have got the line for a second yellow.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,678 ✭✭✭muddle84

Interesting to see Clarke not on the bench.....

  • Registered Users Posts: 48,132 ✭✭✭✭km79

Sounds like a good game but we also sound like we are still getting cut open
Horan has to see this and have a plan for the summer right ?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,010 ✭✭✭Euphoriasean

A lot of positives that half. Still giving up to many chances but the direct running is causing Monaghan plenty of trouble.

Best half of football so far in the league.

    Encouraging overall.

A much more Leeroy like performance.

Jordan Flynn really does need to be careful in terms of his tackling, ditto Diarmuid.
