    Just saying that's stupid.

We have a practicing witch as Minister for Children who wants to show children pornography as part of sexual education.

It's certainly not the daftest idea out there. Hell, Varadkers on the record as trying to set up bot accounts on Twitter to create purely positive FG posts.

We've a government thats gone rogue. Anything is possible at this stage.

No need to go near his private residence on a Sunday, that should be completely off limits, no question about it.

However, I'm struggling to see what thuggery was committed by any one there?

From what I have been reading it was a peaceful protest (even the gards say so) that dispersed when asked to do so by the gards.

We can also agree that it shouldn't have happened where it did, but trying to over inflate what took place is more of the same hyperbolic nonsense that went with the lies and false charges that surrounded the Murphy/Burton case.

Intimidating a young family with a newborn baby and effectively trapping them in their home isn’t thuggery?

    Jesus wept.

No that's more like a description of Maduro in Venezuela.

I do not have a problem with criticism of this country's government. It's not perfect. I never voted FG until 2016.

But all I see is soundbites lacking perspective - no actual coherent analytical criticism.

The taxi driver would literally have more experience than Harris, who has never had a job apart from being a Fine Gael hack and doesn't even have a 3rd level qualification.

    3rd level education?

That makes people important is it?

Jesus I feel so inadequate now that I don’t have a 3rd level education.

Does third level education matter so much?

    O’Reilly and Varadkar were doctors

Michael McDowell and Alan Shatter were rich and in demand outside politics for their legal skills but wont be remembered for being amazing at Minister for Justice.

Albert Reynolds got stuff done and never went to college

What a bunch of braindead morons. Whatever you feel about the man and his performance you leave his private life and family out of it. If this kind of behaviour is normalised then what next, take a pop at them.

People should stop being selfish and stop getting ill. That will solve the crisis.

Thats my election campaign speech on health.

    Only seeing this now.

I dont like him at all. Think he's an absolute jerk.

    But...

You don't target someone's home. That's completely out of order. You can target him outside the Dail with a protest. But there is zero reason or excuse to go near a family home. It's out of bounds. Just like shooting someone in the d1ck. You just dont do it.

    Fcuk Putin. Glory to Ukraine!

Any idea who is really behind this? Doubt it's the nurses, they've more class than this.

More of the scumbaggery that surrounded Joan Burton in her car.

A proper slap on the wrists from the courts back then would have put a stop to this kind of nonsense. They let them off, so that makes these imbeciles think that it's acceptable and you have the hard left cheering them on behind closed doors.

That'll be hard. Many of them had their faces hidden in thr pictures I saw. Almost like they didn't want people to know who they are and perhaps show up at their house.

Do you run a government department with a budget of €15 billion+? No wonder the contractors at the NCH felt they could have a free-for-all. Harris is way, way out of his depth and if a little nudge from the mob helps send him to the exit door I have no problem with it.

It's probably the same muppets behind Eirigi or the Irish Yellow Vest movement, they'd protest the opening of a crisp packet.

The nurses wouldn't have anything to do with this sh!te.

They absolutely do. They have nothing to do with it, in fact the INMO fairly immediately criticised the actions on Twitter.

Surprised there hasn't been a very badly vertically shot mobile phone videos of it available, you know the one that only covers one third of the TV screen when it is uploaded.

Oh don’t forget John Connors who has a free pass to call our reps scum on live TV without any repercussion.

    The future is bright.
Boards.ie in general and here in AH in particular doesn't have any high moral ground about calling people scum or worse.

I’m sure he’s a nice guy with good intentions but why he ever took this position on in the first place at the start of his political career was political suicide. He needs to resign for his own sake more than the country’s imho. The HSE needs to be dismantled completely and responsibility handed over to county councils/health boards again. The system wasn’t perfect then but it was never this bad.
You're joking, right? You want our health service under the control of part-time county councillors, making parochial decisions about having every service going running every three-horse town, despite all the medical evidence showing that critical mass of procedures is absolutely essential to maintain clinical skills at the required level?

The things that the HSE has done right is to close local services and set up regional centres of excellence, like the cancer services that have big, big improvements in outcomes. The last thing we need is to hand the health service over to people who's priority is local planning and potholes.

How long is a piece of string?

To raise a topical example, the fact that our nurses are rushing around trying to manage twice or three times the number of patients than is safe.

Or how about the lack of primary care facilities that should be able to detect and treat problems, especially in the elderly, before they have to present at an acute hospital?

How about patients lying on trolleys because there isn't the capacity to admit them, when they need medical treatment?

Shall we discuss psychiatric hospitals, and the near absence of public resources for people suffering with mental illness, until they reach a point where they become a danger to themselves or to others?

All of these factors are interrelated, and all reduce the life expectancy of patients who deserve better. This occurs by dint of a conscious decision of our Government to trade health outcomes for middle-class votes.

As I said, I am sorry the Minister experienced this, but there are families struggling every day with a lot worse, because of his decisions.

You better hope Mary Lou and the hard left gobsh1tes never get in so.

Also just to point out that the health service has been a mess in this country long before Harris was even born and the reason for this is fatcats in the HSE with cushy jobs for life and unions who hold the country to ransom when it suits them.

It should have been co-located with the new maternity hospital. Currently if a child is born in a maternity hospital and requires cardiac surgery, they go to crumlin.
There is also a much bigger crossover in care between neonates and paeds than between paeds and adults. Paediatric consulatants specialise in kids, they dont go near adults.
You reckon you know more about the medical requirements of a new hospital than the four expert consultants who sat on the Dolphin committee that chose the location of the hospital?

    ted1 wrote: »
The whole point is it can’t be built in a greenfield site. It needs to be beside an adult hospital where all the consultants are based.

    If your a
Mother after giving birth and end up with something going wrong a hospital built on a greenfield site isn’t much use
But think of the parking? Imagine all those lovely parking spaces. That's got to be the most important issue when building a hospital, sure who cares about clinical outcomes?

    Would it be legally possible
To just close it down and sack everybody.

Then open a new health service?
A new service staffed by all those doctors, nurses, administrators, and eHealth experts that you've just fired? I'm not sure that you've really thought this through.
