I am asking about the early days of National Socialism .

Were they using the Socialism to hook in the Antifa boys of the day . They did turn out to be very violent so they may have seen the violence of the Antifa of the day as potentially useful down the line .

Why were they calling themselves Socialists ( in the early days ) if they were not Socialists .

Surely calling themselves socialist was to attract Socialists . Ok , maybe it was only a lure in the early days but it certainly attracted people tended towards violence .

No, they were never socialists. They came about in opposition to Marxism. It focused on race and a united Aryan society. It favoured a form of capitalism that effectively included slaves and corporatism built off of it.

This is the kind of history you are expected to know if you have any interest in political movements etc.

These aren't scientific theories that need explained or broken down. Its documented history that you should look into and not be so lazy to expect someone to explain it to you well after involving yourself in the conversation.

And yeah, Hitler understood the power of language and how easy it is to twist it to suit his end goals. Something we are seeing a lot these days.

UKIP initially started as a left-wing organisation until it was co-opted by Farage and is entirely unrecognisable today from its origins.

I don't want to be equating Farage to Hitler or Godwinning the thread but in essence Hitler did the same thing when he took control of the the German Workers Party. He paid lip service by having Socialist in the name of the party to appeal to the severely disaffected lower classes of Germany during the war but his end-goal was an ethno-nationalist state ruled through brute force. There's no way that you could ever say that Hitler was a socialist.
