He’s gone apparently. And the honorary treasurer with him

That treasurer. Even more proof that they all have to go. The man is about what? 90? He was asked at the meeting on Wednesday how many bank accounts the FAI have and he said "One I think."

    They have 24 bank accounts.

No accountability at the FAI with the current board in place.

If there was any justice he would get no new position within any group after his antics this week.

His refusal to answer any questions about this role for a decade was a real 'f you' to every football fan in Ireland.

Hopefully his reign of terror is at an end and he's not being given another role. Honourary governor-general or some sh*te.

Supposed to be three going today. Its a start and a plan should be in place to get the rest out the door within a set period of time.

By noon Sunday will do fine!!! Sack the full Board!!!

The board, Delaney included are either corrupt, completely incompetent or a mixture of both.

Whatever option turns out to be true is almost irrelevant really. I hope the culpable parties are bounced out and not sent off into the sunset with a big golden handshake.

After that, if there is proof of any corruption then the guilty should be dragged before the courts and held legally and financially to account for their actions.

If they mean it seriously they will all go at once. Also doubt it will happen but major change is needed and they are not fit for the purpose. Wouldnt let them chair the local dog pound....let alone a 50 million turnover organisation.

Has anyome contacted sponsors to show how happy they are with delaney?

Is there a template? (Ima too astoopid to write a email bya myselfs)

Hopefully it includes "john delaney is class and any product he endorses, whatever it costs, myself and my extended family will buy 10,000 each."

Maybe if we buy ****loads of sponsors stuff theyll stick by delaneys side

Maybe Chancer's letters worked and Delaney's being reinstated as CEO?

Very suspicious of the timing of all this just after Quinn and his business partners announce in February that they have plans for the LOI that they have spoken to politicians about but haven't spoken to the FAI about. Weeks later the Sunday papers suddenly find financial issues in the FAI. Delighted Delaney is gone but very curious to see what happens next.

3 lads go today and the rest follow within 6 months with less fanfare/press coverage.
I could see it happening that way .

Dont think its all down to Quinn. Have it from a very good source that a LOI club or better said its owners/chairman have been lobbying the FAI for some time to change things around. They want more exposure, LOI players in the Irish training/squads, TV, marketing, club run youth centers/education partnerships, scholorships....more or less what Quinn was saying but with 100% control with the clubs.

They were also seen dining with one of the committee members and a member of Sport Ireland days before the meeting last week ;)

Being told by a former FAI employee that Delany and probably also Cody and Murray are gone.

If he is gone I can't wait for the 'I told you things wouldn't change just because Delaney is gone' crew.

Of course it won't straight away but a start is all anyone can make. Lets just see if he is, and more of the long termers, are gone.

It's a start anyways and need proper governance put in place.

Will we see scenes of them leaving the fai hanging out of the boot of cars with boxes of paperwork like the last clearout.

Of course it will happen. Lads who have been looked after by the FAI mafia will be here complaining because they are back to being normal status people.

On the other side some lads wont accept restructuring takes time and that the FAI wont be a new setup over night. Will take a strong independant external CEO and a good team behind him or her to get things going in the right direction.

Unfortunately at this stage you'd have to say they've rode it out.

Not a chance, board members are turning

You mean they are all trying to save their own backsides and have no friends anymore as it is money in their own pockets.;);)

And just to put it on record...I actually feel sorry for the Honary Tres., walked the man into the Committee meeting at 80+ and fed him to the dogs. He should have been retired at least 10 years previous.......but would have been the soft spot for any funny business. Reminded me of my own grandfather who seen the best in everyone.....messed around by people he trusted.

I'd have no sympathy for Cody, sure he is 80 years old but he has been there for 20+ years and has been involved in some awful crap.He could have walked away from it all years ago but choose to keep his head in the trough.
Hes no soft spot either ,you don't make it in his former profession if you are.

Dont know anything about the man.....just my observation. Seemed to be a man who should have been in an old peoples home instead of in that room. Also made me feel he was maybe the weak link that JD and his mates could expose and get things past.

But thats the whole point of lack of proper Governance, Delaney surrounds himself with mushrooms and they are delighted with titles , status, home and away games... just rubber stamping whatever he wants, thats been the problem since Sepp Delaney got his feet under thd boardroom

Not the case, hes probably the man closest to JD .They have had each other's backs for years and would hold plenty of influence.

He shouldn't be there but make no mistake hes no pasty.

A very well paid strong independent external CEO

I am aware of that.......he was in total control and the board didnt question him.

OK will take your word for it, if thats the case then he was aiding JD all along. Came accross as being an auld man who would sign everything off without asking questions, which is what he seems to have done.

    [/b]

Well paid....but not as stupidly paid as JD. Small fixed amount and the rest performance related. Very simple but effective stuff.
