Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Multiple poor handling errors from Leinster. No score since the 5th minute is a poor return.

You get the feeling Leinster will get their points in the last 20, Wasps having to do a lot of tackling and it'll be even more in the 2nd half when Leinster get the wind.

Leinster lineout is a disaster this evening

Wasps have to got to feel pretty happy so far.

Simpson is an absolute terrier of a scrum half.

Idiotic from Lowe. Wasps defence going well, Munster could do with bringing Ian Costello back!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

Lowe caught by a bit of shíthousery for a penalty.

I thought Henshaw ballsed up a near certain try, ran away from the support to the left wing and he had a man with him

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 27,288 Mod ✭✭✭✭Podge_irl

Not entirely convinced Henshaw got the most out of that break that he could have.

Henshsw ran away from his support during his break.

    Think that's 3 trys we've blown.

    Looking very Munsteresque right now.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,149 ✭✭✭mangobob

Scratch that. Wasps will be DELIGHTED with this first half. Great in the defence but Leinster are their own worst enemy at times.

    So obvious from Sopoaga.

    Stopped the try though.

Hard lines for Wasps, Dai Young will be going mad.

Was a wildly forward pass mind. Interesting one.

Wasp's will be happy with that half, prior to the yellow (edit, and try). In fairness to them they've a better defense than most of the teams Leinster have played in the Pro 14: this season.

Simpson slide in and knee'ed McGrath in the head

    Wasps are a dumb team

    Lovely snipe from Luke there.

Amazing that even with a poor 40 minutes preceding it, Leinster can still string it together to get a try right at the end of the first/start of the second.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,149 ✭✭✭mangobob

Great try but Jeebus that was hard work.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

The off the ball stuff drives me mad, Healy pins Simpson down off to the right of the ruck, AR taps him on the shoulder to let go.
Simpson then slides in knee first on a prone player.

Line out needs some remedial work at half time.

I like the Leinster Jersey. Leinster should be further ahead

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,154 ✭✭✭✭Neil3030

We'll kick more in the second half with the wind. Keep their backs honest. Should eventually pull away. Especially with the bench.

I'm assuming those two comments aren't connected. But if they were...

Big moment. Deserved but Leinster need to sharpen up. Second rows and Ruddock having big games up front although this game plan would have been ideal for Leavy.

Henshaw having a strong game despite the poor decision to run away from McGrath.

Wasps came with a plan to slow things down when and slow Leinster's flow down and it was working. Lots of disruption, standing up before scrums, delaying things etc. Leinster haven't helped themselves though by conceding so many free kicks. Line out is a mess. Hopefully we get it out of the way tonight.

If it had gone to a TMO check the penalty might not have been given since the forward infringement happened before the deliberate knock on.

I’m a fan of that jersey. Nice and simple. Doesn’t scream rugby top. Understated class.

Fancy Leinster to run away with this.

Very hard to tell since the ball basically travelled a yard before it was knocked down.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,223 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Very frustrating half. Lots of side to side stuff. When it's come to it Henshaw has been good in straightening the line but blew a try by failing to look up and pass after making a nice break.

Handling errors cost us a few trys as well as our speed of play. Feels like we have another gear but playing with the brake in deliberately.

Have to say, I'm really enjoying how Poite is policing the lineout. Free kicks for delays in throwing it in, stepping away from the spot, strict on not straight.

Rarely see a lot of it enforced.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,154 ✭✭✭✭Neil3030

Leinster electing not to kick into the wind is allowing Wasps blitz us with impunity. Things will look a lot different in the 2nd half.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 18,958 ✭✭✭✭Shefwedfan

Jimmy Gopperth needs to rewatch the game, what chances did Wasps have?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,722 ✭✭✭✭Squidgy Black

139 tackles by Wasps vs 32 for Leinster, that bench is going to absolutely annihilate them.

So Leinster try 1 was offside and 2 came after a forward pass...
