Still in it. Bit of consistency from ref would be nice.

I'm not sure I want to see them win. Dublin and Donegal would embarrass us. How a team can go from playing one style at the start of the year to what we're seeing now is a mystery to me.

    Comer warming up.

    2 points in it.

    25 mins to go.

Galway will probably need a goal to win this.

Every ref decision going mayos way

I'm of the opinion that everytime Mayo get a free, their players lie down as though they're dead. There's nothing actually wrong with them. They're just running down the clock and the ref doesn't seem wise to it.

We are too flat in possession. Mayo have two options on the shoulder the whole time. We going sideways or backwards most of the time

If Sean Kelly ever got injured we'd be completely screwed. Cillian McDaid coughing up a number of crucial turnovers today.

Ref is not losing this for us, we're just shíte

Galway gone backwards since Comer has come on. Finding it fierce hard to get past half back line. Terrible team.

    In the back again

The worst fact here is we have to watch another few years of this.

Looking at the hurling you can find some positives in the defeat.

I'd find it hard to find any positives here.

    Shane Walsh no?

    Another strategic delay from Mayo.....

Really being rode by the ref

    Shane Walsh no?

I wasnt talking about individual performances, but yes hes done well.
Albeit he's having to make every inch of his scores.

They need a goal now to draw level, you'd think points won't do! 2pts in it, need to win the KO.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,902 ✭✭✭Robson99

That should have been a pen

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,327 ✭✭✭threeball

If we bothered playing football in the game at all we'd have beat them easily. They're as bad as we are.

It was cynical AF, but it was outside the box, sadly.

That was ridiculous stuff from Galway at the end. Pure headless.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,893 ✭✭✭Happyilylost

    Heart breaking.

Please god move on PJ. Hasnt a clue what hes doing.
You wait until the 73rd minute to press a kickout which should be standard.
They lost both of them for a reason.

Watched enough years of this kind of headless football now.

Bad weekend for Galway GAA - two frustrating defeats

At least the hurlers get another bight of the cherry next weekend

The standard of decision making by the galway player while on the ball is shocking .
To many players on galways team ARE NOT UP TO COUNTY STANDARD .
When these players get on the ball they panic .
Padraic Joyce never gave the ball away cheaply when he played , but you can't coach class and that's what's missing in this galway side .

A serious punishment will have to come in to both codes. The cynicism is gone to hell. Games being decided every week now with cynical fouls. We were brutal but I hate seeing sport being decided by cheating.

That last ball had to go in ffs. Too ponderous in possession. We're a great league team. Once it gets serious, we fall apart

Serious punishment is one thing but that's not much good to the team that's been knocked out as a result of the foul.
Unless something like a penalty goal is introduced (like the penalty try in Rugby) I don't see the problem going away.
