It's not a pretty picture. Although I'm keen to see Janelle Monet.

    And her water lilies?

    Apologies Rico.

Ah it's just a first announcement. Some decent atcs too. Wouldn't mind seeing Big Red Machine, Interpol and James Blake and few more

I'm happy enough with the PS lineup, albeit lacking a big rock act a la national/monkeys like last year. I reckon big red machine will play the opening night on Wednesday like Belle and Sebastian last year.

If the Primavera lineup is indicative of who is touring this summer it doesn't inspire much confidence for Irish festivals this summer!

There's a lot there that i'd like to see
Cate Le Bon, Courtney Barnett, Erykah Badu, FKA twigs, Shonen Knife, Stiff Little Fingers, Janelle Monáe, Kurt Vile & The Violators, Liz Phair, Suede, Tame Impala, Jarvis Cocker introducing JARV IS.

That's pretty much it though, no?

They announce everything in one go, rarely any big additions bar replacements

    Brian - Consider the lilies.
Randomer in crowd - He's having a go at the flowers now!

Usually little crossover. Usually bad for us. Could be the first time in a decade that EP outdoes PS.

I’ll take 3 from there and be happy, Tame Impala, Christine and the Queens and Stiff Little Fingers.

I missed Stiff Little Fingers on the post, its like an eye test with the text so small as it goes down.. :P See Primavera is doing a 50/50 split in male and female acts which is pretty interesting and shows to festivals there's plenty of talented female artists out there

Doves supporting Noel Gallagher, probably puts them out of EP.
    Which is a bit crap.

Yeah was devastated when I heard Doves were supporting NG! They'd fit in nicely to the EP.

Surprised by the reactions to Primavera, there is so much quality on the line-up. It's still the best line-up in Europe, IMO. Far better than Mad Cool

Zero interest in the 1975 boys up till now but you lot have me intrigued. A blend of the Blue Nile, INXS, New Order and Joy Division, you say? Off to open my mind.

As a boardsie with similar tastes let me know how that goes.

Watched them at the Picnic 2/3 years ago and I dont recall much about them

Ah yeah, there’s loads I’d happily see at EP, but those 3 are standouts for me.

Will do. It’s all subjective but I’ve never seen a PS lineup as bland and unadventurous as that. Would still find much to enjoy but there’s little of the usual leftfield stuff that ATP specialise in.

Have you been to PS before? The site is great, very accessible and you can walk to your hotel in 5-20 minutes depending on budget. No arty stuff like EP (or as much sound bleed) just great music and people (in general) having fun. It's moved away from being a traditional 'rock' festival alright but there's 'gold in dem hills' still, imo.

Went in 2007 & 2010, sold tickets for last year and others and wil sell on my early bird shortly. It usually has great lineups but I find the concrete tiring, the noisebleed bad and the beer choice & prices absurd. Add to that flight & accommodation costs and it’s double what I spend on any other festival.

I reckon they’re now trying to draw on the Benicassim crowd judging by the 2019 acts and that’s not my thing. I’d still find plenty to enjoy if I went but I wouldn’t be spoiled for choice. To those who are going I hope you’ve a great fest.

I packed it in after 4 songs. Not my cup of tea. Don't let me put you off, I just couldn't see the appeal.

You didn't get to the industrial post-punk stuff? Shades of Magazine & Buzzcocks later on.

Sadly the Buzzcocks will never play Electric Picnic, Pete Shelley passed away today at the age of 63, rest in peace.

I see that Electric Fields in Scotland has been moved back to 4th - 6th July, so one festival less to guess at possible crossovers and apparently no Festival No 6 next year either.
