Does Israel want to wipe out the Palestinians?

After today's massacre, over 55 dead so far. Absolutely no regard for Palestinians basic human rights. What is the end game? Tomorrow marks the 70th anniversary of the Nakba and things are only getting worse. Events in the occupied territories are worse than anything endured in apartheid south Africa. They need support from the ground up from all people as the political will is not there.

I would hope the Irish defence forces would shoot dead any person or groups who would try to cross our border with criminal intent.

No-one said the Palestinians had to riot and act the bollocks because an embassy opened.

    But they did.

Nobody said the Palestinians had to start invading the border of Israel despite being warned numerous times not to do so.

    But they did.

I would have thought that was obvious, the IDF have been jizzing in their pants since this protest kicked off...gives them a chance to pick off a few more Palestinians

In our own history we have bloody Sunday in Derry when people decided to protest and British soldiers shot 28 unarmed civilians. The scale of what is happening to Palestinians dwarfs anything that ever happened in our own troubles. Apartheid Israel has brought barbaric treatment to a whole new level

And, as usual, it is a bunch of kleptocratic Palestinian "politicians" that profit from keeping the conflict going so that they can siphon off more aid money from the West. And at the same time, sacrifice kids so that they can do so.

    Plus Ca Change...

Do Israel want to wipe out the Palestinians?

The answer is of course no. Even during the last "war" against the palestinians 3 or 4 years ago the Gazan population actually went up despite the deaths due to the ridiculously high birth rate of the palestinians.

Hamas knew what would happen when they organised these attacks on the border, they are quite happy for the Israelis to create more "martyrs" that they can parade on western media.

If any European nation behaved like that they would be kicked out of the EU. And rightly so.

The US has a lot to answer for in regards to Israel. Hypocrites.

What does “knowing what would happen” mean? When white supremicists shot at peaceful black protests, did the responsibility like with Martin Luther king or the ANC?

Nonsense, if that was true the Baltic states would now be back in the Russian "motherland" by now.

    What conflict?

By the IDF's own admission one soldier was "slightly wounded by shrapnel" and "Our troops have not taken any sustained direct fire". Also no one crossed the border.

55 Palestinians are dead. 2,000 are injured.

    That's not a bloody "conflict"

I'd be incredibly ashamed if our soldiers showed such blatant disregard for life, that they kill children and journalists

JIDF like b*ll*xology. You honestly believe that most people believe this crap? To make it understandable in an Irish context its like arguing that Widgery was more truthful than Saville when trying to explain what happened on Bloody Sunday.

What does “knowing what would happen” mean?

Are you being disingenuous? Hamas is ok with palestinians being killed, it's good PR for them. They couldn't care less about them, the more dead the better for Hamas.
When white supremicists shot at peaceful black protests, did the responsibility like with Martin Luther king or the ANC?

    That's a strawman argument. The palestinian protestors weren't non-violent.

Israel will protect it's border, the danger of Hamas or another terrorist group using these "riots" as cover to insert terrorists into Israel is too high for them to take a hands-off approach.

Well one can be certain that the Palestinians would wipe out Israel if they got the chance.

There are no good guys in Israel or Palestine - it's just a question which version of bad you prefer to back for crude political reasons

So mow down everybody then as a tactic? Message understood.

Israeli spokesperson on RTE essentially said that they were shooting at the Palestinians because they don't have space in prison. And some of them are hamas.

    Hamas = bad
    Israel = bad

Not sure how you can be in favour of either side here... It's a mess.

The conflict that has been going on the region for 50+ years.

    Do keep up.

Ukraines border has already been compromised by Russia. If they thought the EU would stand by and just let a bunch of right wing nut jobs just walk across the borders of Eastern European nations unaposed they would be occupied by now.

Perhaps if Ireland was built a few years ago based on the mass seizure of land from the native inhabitants and today we were systematically colonising the remaining bits then the poster might have a point.

Stupidest f*cking comparison I've seen all day.

Do you think that the British army should have gone to town on republicans during the troubles? The Israelis are making Bloody Sunday look like a minor infraction at this stage.

Why is it expanding illegal settlements then and also building new ones?

So you would blame the march organisers and not the Paras for Bloody Sunday in 1972 if you were going to be consistent about this type of stuff?

NI Civil rights marchers took part in dignified peaceful protests looking for their basic rights, they did not attack the BA neither were they seeking to destroy the UK.

It's time to expel the Israeli ambassador.

The least we can do to show some solidarity with the Palestinian people.

    See the post below yours.

The difference is that the Palestinian "Politicians" agitate for violence because they know they will get a violent response from Israel.

More money will then be sent in from fools in the West which goes into the Palestinian "Politicians" pockets.

    And the cycle continues....

Yep, todays events were the first acts that are going to lead to the eventual destruction of Israel.

Jesus, what nonsense. Do you honestly believe theres an existential threat to Israel?

What would you do if you were a political leader in Gaza. They have been thoroughly ravaged of all assets over the years. The only resistance they offer is futile but should they simply give up and accept their fate. Futile protests are all they have left in their armory

Arafat siphoned off billions in aid money. You'd be extremely naive to think that that is not continuing to happen.

It is israelies pulling the trigger. They are the only people who are responsible for the deaths of those men women and children. What threat do journalists pose to the idf or israel apart from showing the world the war crimes they are committing, what threat is a double amputee in a wheelchair to the israelies? The kids? Etc etc.

Can’t believe this Irish government can expel a Russian diplomat for a “suspected” nerve agent attack. Yet do nothing whilst the terrorist state of Israel can kill indiscriminately and with impunity. Shame on our government..

Instead they are doing illegal land grabs
