Cork looks like getting some heavy snow this afternoon.
Disappointing so far but have a feeling we could do quite well later today

Continuous light snow in Dublin 16 for the last 90 minutes or so with the odd heavier (accumulating) bursts (which only last a couple of minutes). -0.8c atm.

Looking at the radar it looks like something a bit heavier/more organised should move into the Dublin area in the next hour.

I’m in South Dublin/Dublin 4 and there’s about 2-3cms of snow and sill falling heavily

Depth at 7 am now up to 2 cm at Casement but Dublin Airport back down to <0.5 cm. Visibilities 6000 m and 3500 m, respectively.

Got a good dusting down in Ladysbridge, everything is white. Proximity to the coast the key.

Intensity increasing here again accompanied by strong winds, synoptic situation is more like wednesday then friday during the beast, there is a slight northeasterly fetch that means we are not in the shadow of Wicklow mountains, looks good, very good, will wrap up now and head for a forest walk from the village, that takes me up to about 330m asl ovelooking Blessington Lake

A nice radar blob has split off Anglesea and is heading straight for Dublin now. Arrival in the next 30 mins.

Incoming for Wicklow. M2 buoy temp dp separation has decreased, this Welsh stuff is saturating the lower levels, could be sleety at the shore unless it gets convective. Basing this on blossoming radar echoes west of Anglesey heading WSW.

(edit -- ninja 'd there, looks to be heading for both Dublin and Wicklow as two blobs appear now)

Snowing for the last hour at least in Kilkenny town. Another hour and all the green patches should be well covered.
