Forgot to check, is 4g data available on this plan? Do you have to change apn etc when changing from another network?

I ported from Eir and I had to get on to support to get 4G activated.
Very quick process, but was only getting 3G up till that point..

Got the same. Still waiting to be activated on the plan. 48hrs now.

I was on to support to get 4G activated and got some free credit from them to keep me going.

I’m now on the Vodafone Sim and have full reception and I can’t login to the app.

I rang Vodafone customer service and they said I have to wait for activation of the data user sim plan.

That gave me 70 minutes, 70 texts and 700mb of data to tide me over until it’s activated.

Did anyone have any issues with the app?
    Yes,big time,for a few days,now all good

Props to vodafone. Ordered yesterday evening, sim arrived this afternoon.
Registered with Vodafone app straight away. Had €10.50 credit on it.
Rang customer care and was told could take 3 days
Was given 200 minutes and calls and 2gb data.
    Credit is €8.50 now,€2 has disappeared :p
Also its my first time with a 4g data plan.
Phone is 4g compatible but only getting 3g/ H+ at the minute. Do I need to do anything to get 4g?

Anybody know if this offer is for life once signed up, or can they take it off you at any time?

Am on a good eir offer (€20 top up for 15gb, all calls and texts but don't keep any credit), but think Vodafone has better coverage and better 4G.

    Thanks cork.
But still no good. Have selected 4g/3g/2g auto.
Thinking it could be because my offer hasnt been activated and the 2gb they gave me is only 3g??
Will email them tomo and ask what the craic is

I have this same offer and I'd be very slow to give it up unless you have very poor eir coverage as the offer is gone for new signups.
Plus the monthly text for the addon is annoying which you currently don't have.

Just get on to chat, I had to do it today.
    Sorted in 2 mins.
For some reason it wasn't active by default

    I had the same issue.

I contacted support and told them I had no 4G then they changed something on their system and asked me to turn the phone on and off and then the 4G appeared.

Has anyone switched from Lycamobile to this plan?

Vodafone seem to not accept Lycamobile porting for many of it's offers on handset discounts.

The 100 International minutes could be a clincher for me though

Switched from a 20 euro Meteor/Eir deal that I was on for the last year as Eirs customer care services sucks.

Anyways rang Vodafone - sim came - ported across - rang Vodafone customer care - explained the craic got 200 minutes, 200 Text and 3gb of data to keep me going until deal kicks in.

Also got an extra 10 euro for registering the sim in my name.

Notice I was only on 3G so rang them up and they sorted the setting and presto 4G

All in all good deal. Happy to be back with Vodafone.

You can schedule the top up for every 28 days and there is an app called 'Do It Later' on Android which allows scheduling texts. Once you know at what time thed top up occurs, it should work.

Do it later does not allow you to repeat every 28 days.

Sorry I missed that. I was just on to the developer and he/she said custom repeat days would be added. No sure when but sounded like soon.

I received my SIM on Tuesday but havent been ported across yet. Is this delay typical?

Received my sim Tuesday and port happened an hour or so after. The plan hasn't activated though.

I’m still waiting for the data user plan to be activated.

Quick question - who on here has actually got the data user plan activated?

Can you screenshot put up a picture of the plan in the app?

Same here. Ported Tuesday evening and no sign of the plan yet.

Just checked the app again after I posted the above comment and the Data User Plan had appeared albeit called Student Offer.

    That was a weird coincidence!!

Edit: I got a free €20.00 top up into my account from Vodafone aswell - fantastic offer so far.

    Thanks again OP

Same here, I just got a text saying thanks for topping up. I checked and the student offer is there and €20 top up. I'm switched over :D

Again same here, took about 2 days for plan to come in place after the port, but vf kept me in minutes texts and data until then. Then gave me free 20gb data and 20 Euro top up. Speeds much same as eir in my home but no dropped or missed calls and customer care much better to deal with, then again rotwelleirs are easier to deal with than eir.
Going to move young lad and other half over to vf next week.
