Taking this at face value and assuming nothing untoward happened, what an absolutely disgraceful way to treat someone who single handedly kept your business afloat for YEARS....and to replace him with an Anthem suit, it's classic TNA fuckwittery.

Scott shouldn't be long out of a job.

Seriously? It's finally finding its feet again after being messed with for a long time and they fire the guy responsible? He even got one of the biggest companies to promote them on one of their biggest events of the year. When he said "WE ARE TNA!" you felt he meant it.

Could they keep him on as on-air talent?

Just reading the pwinsider reports of the firing and the virtual meeting between talent and the anthem executives, it sounds like it was due to difference in vision between anthem and Scott D’amore, and a less then stellar opening impression by the execs.

Some kick in the teeth for D'Amore with TNA just returning after years and it's the biggest buzz the promotion has seen for years

Aww man, I'm shocked and super disappointed. Just when you think the company is on the right track they shoot themselves in the foot again

Reddit saying Nick Husman is dropping more unsubstantiated cryptic tweets this about about D'Amore and Don Callis like he did about Jericho a few weeks back that he quietly later admitted he was just sh1t stiring about Jericho.

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 12,628 Mod ✭✭✭✭riffmongous

I'd heard stuff about Callis before, he's supposed to be the reason why Karrion Kross and Scarlet left TNA

  • Registered Users Posts: 60,292 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

Reports tonight that D’Amore went to Anthem in the last few weeks with an offer to by TNA outright from them. He had the backing of a major banking institution according to those reports

Also it seemed he knew he was getting fired a week or ten days ago

I know it's due to how the matches were recorded and the timing of the Rumble, but it's a bit mad seeing an active WWE wrestler having a match in TNA. Usually they're gone from TNA a wee while before showing up in WWE so all their matches have aired.

So we have both members of the Vaudevillains on TNA now.

I like how people can't help themselves doing the clap when Joe Hendry's music plays.

So Kon just deliberately broke at least 1 guy's neck on tv? We all know that's how it's done in tv and movies.

Tommy Dreamer is apparently new head of creative :S

Joe Hendry adapting AJ Styles' old theme this week

Fightful reporting Josh Alexander will be a free agent will be a free agent soon.

He would be a good gaijin for NJPW to sign now that Ospreay has left.

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,688 ✭✭✭hynesie08

He's too good not to have a job but not sure he's AEW/WWE good tbh. Njpw strong and mlw might be his ceiling, unless AEW want to reunite the North.

  • Registered Users Posts: 28,796 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

His wife is working in TNA as well as the ring announcer. So I'd say he would like a decent contract if they're both going to leave.

  • Registered Users Posts: 461 ✭✭jface187

Ethan Page what a waste believe his in roh now.

  • Registered Users Posts: 60,292 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

It's actually Steve Maclin whose contract is up.

It seems Twitter jumped the gun on Josh and Josh seems to be trending for something else now.

I wonder how many of the TNA talent will decide to leave once their contacts are up after Scott was sacked.

  • Registered Users Posts: 60,292 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

Reads like Josh had no option when his contract was up, TNA extened his contract due to a clause.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 42,411 Mod ✭✭✭✭Lord TSC

SRS saying Alexander had requested they didn’t extend. He had been open to renegotiating but also wanted to see his options but TNA decided to just enforce the extension.

Fun show tonight delighted for Ali.

On a side note it’s being reported that Scott offered $10m for TNA as well as taking over the entire debt of the company. The offer was turned down flat and no counter was offered.

Scott valued the company between $7m to $12m.

Without Anthem though TNA would have no TV since Anthem own the channel TNA airs on.

Killer Kelly joins The Motor City Machine Guns as a free agent and not having her contract renewed.

Reports over the last while that Anthem don't want to give out new contract to wrestlers now they want to give them a bigger per date deals instead.

The way Matt Hardy and Mike Santana were talking I was expecting them both to join WWE so a bit surprised both are now here at TNA.
TNA really has cooled off really badly since the changed back to the TNA name after that first red hot PPV back as TNA.

    Regards,

    P.

  • Registered Users Posts: 53,849 ✭✭✭✭Headshot

For Matt he's still a free agent and could well sign for WWE.

The bigger surprise to me is TNA went for him, Matt's best wrestling days are well behind him.

  • Registered Users Posts: 128 ✭✭Patrick Mahomes

For its first PPV back under the TNA name Hard to Kill they had a record 66k buys for the PPV.
Last weekends Rebellion they had just 500 buys
TNA really has crashed and burned since they fired Scott D’Amore.

    Regards,

    P.
