So very easily to be Halal compliant you could be paying very easily 10% extra on your groceries to religion that you have no interest in. There is also a clause that you cannot advertise that you do pay certification

Actually one of my relations is high up in beef insustry and any time I bring up the matter ... he wont talk about. You already have Halal hotels and such. The next move will be to medical devices and medicine. Seems like a lot of pandering to minute percentage of the population.

I lived in Baghdad in the 80's and ate nothing but Irish beef. The vast majority of the beef slaughtered here according to halal methods is exported to the middle east.

Also, some studies have shown that the halal methods of slaughter may actually cause less pain to animals.

Either way are you protesting against all animal mistreatment? I became a vegetarian because of animal mistreatment, especially fowl. I think you probably only care about stuff like that when Muslims are involved.
