Jaysus it is just like Liverpool actually :D

Jump into the School or somewhere like that. You'll get to grips with the combat quicker and won't panic as much if you get attacked late in the game.

That's bull, you'll still panic and have a mini heartattack at the final circle :pac:

Got to last 2 for the second time last night.

I was behind a tree on the side of a hill and he was a few metres away, prone at the top of the hill.

I have never, ever heard and felt my heart beating so hard. It was so distracting.
So distracting in fact, that I didn't notice the little red circle on the tree when I leaned out to shoot (his head was in plain sight). Started shooting up the tree and got wasted.

It's amazing the effect this game can have on you.

Took a break from this over the weekend to play some rainbow 6, amazingly enough, dealing with the framey, jerky aiming in pubg actually seemed to help my gameplay in siege. I'm loving pubg, but theres something inconsistent about it that still feels a little off to me.

First time I felt actively irritated by the game last night. My textures on a standard Xbox always popped in late but last night was the worst.

Merry and I landed in Polyana. He landed on the roof of a high rise and I parachuted, landed and ran around for a good 30/40 seconds with no buildings having popped in - they were just patches on the ground. I could see gear floating in the air, being held up by invisible buildings. So merry went from the roof and cleared three floors by the time I could see buildings and enter.

Next time at a high rise near the school - at least the basic shape popped in. I landed near another guy but I had to stand there wobbling up and down on an unresolved building while he had time to go in the door I couldn’t see, down a floor, loot, arm himself, come back upstairs and emerge on the roof around 3 seconds after the building finally loaded for me with a shotgun and armour ready to blast me in the back.

I can take it being in early access where everyone is hit the same way. But this is just a killer (I understand technically why it’s happening but MS are gonna have some issues with fragmentation in games that depend on rapidly populating games).

Is there a difference in speed between the s and x in terms of populating? Were both of you on the same internet connection?

New patch today! Mil Base has been fixed, so it's safe to drop there again.
    Gameplay

Auto-run function has been added (from a standstill, double clicking L3 will activate auto-run)
Players can now drop equipped weapons with Y button when inventory screen is active
Grenades can once again be cycled by tapping right on D pad
Players can now cancel casting actions while the inventory screen is active

    Optimization

    Continued optimizations and crash fixes

    Option

Game controller guide has been updated

    Bug fixes

Buildings around the Military Base have had their collision adjusted
Camera shake when riding as a passenger in vehicles has been reduced
Inventory character models have returned to their normal stance
Fixed a camera issue created by unintended Aim Down Sights and Free Look interactions
“A” button will no longer refresh game results screen
Team UI will now correctly show the proper direction teammates are facing over larger distances
Player changes to markers on the in-game map will now be properly applied to their teammate's in-game map
Fixed an issue where switching to throwables under certain conditions left the player empty-handed
Adjusted character positioning when exiting vehicles and parachutes

A huge difference when it was first looked at, I'm not sure if there's been improvements since.

Basically, the X is totally done, or near enough, by the time you jump out of the plane. The One/S, meanwhile, are still loading buildings after you land, so in some cases, people are getting stuck inside buildings that "appear" on top of them.

That's me - at times I can *push* into buildings that are just ill defined blobs but if I do that there's a chance when the full building pops in I'll be instantly killed or end up stuck in a wall/furniture.

Only realised just how different the experience was after watching a twitch stream of a guy playing on the X - he could see buildings as he was dropping! I know the locations of stuff from the terrain and the bends of roads and water. Ain't no buildings until my chute opens generally and at times buildings haven't loaded 30 seconds after I hit the ground.

Many of you play on PC? Come across cheating much? Seems to be a major issue. Some of the stuff that is going on in the below 3 minute video is crazy. Especially he last guy who kills about 8 people in 15 seconds from hundreds of metres away...

Yes, the cheating seems to be rampant on PC, but they do seem to be trying to get a handle on it. I think that the lack of cheaters on console is the one thing that the PC lads are jealous of.

I landed on a rooftop last night in the little flooded town (don't know what it's called) and a dude landed right beside me.

Started punching him in the face and he just melted through the floor like the wicked witch. Hilarious!

Heard him running around in the gaf below so I got kitted up a left him at it.

Also, got my first frying pan kill last night :)
After the drop, was in a house with chick and all I had was the pan. Chasing her around trying to wack her was so hard. Just got one hit in.

Then, she stopped to pick up a gun and *clunk* dead. Such a satisfying whack off it!

Got down to last 2 teams in duo last night. Final circle was in the shelter near the prison. The last guy alive on the other team somehow managed to blast the 2 of us. So close but yet so far.

You definitely need to talk in teams, otherwise it's very hard to co-ordinate what you're doing.

Saying that, I had some "Norn Iron" lad telling the team what to do in a recent game. Had us parachute into the military base and was already warning us about team killing on the way down. He promptly got himself killed and then blamed the team for being useless.

If you join a squad you can stick close in to the group. If i join a random squad rarely they have had mics.

I might just give it a bash later.. is it better than the solo?

It's not as intense... Folk are a bit more careless as they can be revived if downed. If you do manage to party with up some friends or even some boardsies, you'll be guaranteed to have a laugh at the very least.

Just never sure how many mates someone has if you down him. If they doe straight away there the last of their group. I prefer playing with mates in squad tbh

*dependent on how hot the lz is and the disposition of your teammates:D

I love the game however playing solo I find completely boring about 2 matches in I just couldn't be arsed. Nothing beats the banter and moments with mates that are incredible and fun.

Blocking off the bridges with a squad is so much fun getting 3-4 cars and creating a barricade and sitting there with your buddys waiting.

Mate cocking up the car and all those funny instances ya get nothing by playing solo only the adrenaline of the hunt.....:D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,575 ✭✭✭ZiabR

It really is a team game, not even sure solo play belongs in the game :D

It is super fun in squads.

Yeah a mic is helpful but in fairness you could join a squad and just stick together.
