Good stuff. A right snake in the grass, picking on poor players trying to gather supplies :D

Since the last patch the game has improved so much. Buildings are spawning in from when the parachute opens now!

Landing someplace like the school or the military base is still pointless (did it yesterday and i landed on the roof, nothing spawned in so bounced off the roof, down into the base, into a big room then spent around 30 seconds running away from armed people until I got plugged - the moment I died stuff spawned in around me) but most other places are fine.

Is there a way to get down further before the chute opens, I’ve noticed mine opening way before loads of players and putting me at a disadvantage if I dive into populated areas..

Agree with the spawning, though if I go into a high dense area I land on the ground and walk thru the walls and the weapons are all there

Angle straight down. if you hit 234km you will drop a lot faster even after the chute opens.

If I walk through the walls I can't pick up anything anyway and if something spawns where I'm standing there's a good chance I'll get stuck in it or get blasted across the room and die when stuff does spawn in.

Another one I've seen a good few times now is stairs never spawning in. There's a specific kind of two storey house that has a car port downstairs. I just thought some of them didn't have stairs until I realised playing team games that my team mates could go up them. Even after the rest of the world 'pops in' these buildings still don't get stairs.

I do angle straight down but it seems when my chute opens I look down and someone still diving for another 100m or so before theirs open so they get to the ground first even if the dive after me..

I find that the furniture spawns around the edges of the room mainly so that if you move toward the centre of room and look outward at the pickups it helps and very rarely something spawns on me

thats more of a misperception, you can travel quite a distance when diving, so its feasible that someone jumped from the plane before you and angled towards your landing spot, hitting the ground before you, even though you could have left the plane directly above your dropzone and angled straight down.

I’ve had one that was directly under me and his chute opened closer to the ground, I was taking into account angles and perception when looking at it, wondering how he got down another 100m or so before his chute opened

If you're over a hill your chute will open earlier, if the other person was over flat ground nearby his chute will seem to open later although you'll both be the same height above the ground below your respective locations. Don't know if trees and houses have the same effect but could try aiming for clear ground to check.

Yeah will do, I had thought it might have been something to do with being on the old Xbox one and because the buildings were still rendering but that makes sense there

Had my first LMS win yesterday.

Ive had 5 wins or so but none when alone at the end and was DBNT for another.

Second last team mate died with 10 left. And i killed a lad alone on top of the last two team mates in the final three... they hadn't a dicky bird where i was in despite firing 10-20 times in total.

Was way more gripping since i was alone... heart was pounding in the final 3 battle.

Hadn't won a game in quite a while either to sweeten the deal.

Probably going to be a while, to be honest, they seem to be focusing on performance issues first and foremost.

They do seem to be moving on that at a fair clip though, if they keep up this kind of improvement, they're probably going to get the game into a usable state by the middle of March. After that, I'd expect things like the KillCam, Miramar, etc, to be brought in.

    Patch #7 Notes
    Xbox players,
We’re now serving up chicken dinners to over 4 million players on Xbox. Thank you for your continued support! We truly value all of the feedback from across the community. We have a few minor updates to gameplay this week, alongside bug-fixes and performance tweaks, as noted below.

    Gameplay

We’ve listened to your feedback and further modified the damage players can inflict on vehicles, increasing areas of vulnerability. This includes:

Increased damage to the vehicle body, and significant damage to the wheels when targeted with gunfire

Increased vehicle damage when successfully targeted with a grenade

Both driver and passenger will suffer increased injuries from crashing into objects or other vehicles (Dacia, UAZ, and Buggy)

Slight reduction to player damage when being struck by a vehicle

    Optimization

Continued optimization to controller input lag

Visual quality of reticle is improved (Red Dot, Holographic, and 2x Sight)

    Bug fixes

Resolved issue where inventory may highlight the wrong column when looting

The sensitivity setting for 4x Scope is now also applied to the permanent scope on the VSS

Auto-run (double-clicking the left stick) is disabled when aiming down sights

Players can now use the D-Pad while in the map view without switching melee, pistol, or throwing weapons

Removing the marker from the map when pressing (Y) will no longer switch primary/secondary weapons

Fixed issue where the crosshair is not correctly displayed after players reconnect to a game session

That wrong column when looting thing was driving me insane.

Great that they're doing more balancing to the cars, but I do hope that it doesn't make them useless as well, it's only near the end that they become a problem.

They were, and possibly still are, completely unrealistic though. If someone opens up on you in your average Corolla with an AK47 you're not going to be able to keep driving around in circles before running over them!

I think the whole car thing is vastly overstated tbh, been to the top 10 plenty and rarely see anymore than the odd hero doing loops.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,618 ✭✭✭Mr Freeze

Regularly in the top 10 too (well once an evening) and it can be carnage with cars sometimes.

I was in a house with 20ish left, waiting for circle to move and about 10 bikes/cars/buggies went zipping past when the circle moved.

Hopefully this makes the problem go away now, for the next while I will just open fire on every and any vehicle if its in range to see does it blow up.

The problem with cars is that in a solo game it takes the same level of damage so it's more of a tactic.
Three or four lads shooting at one can level them pretty quickly.

Not sure could they reduce the damage in the latter circles as that seems the obvious solution.
