Not into the dashes of blue at all but the black halo on orange is the easiest on the eye so far imo. Crazy lack of aero compared to everyone else in front of the side pods but the floor in front is interesting indeed.

Getting excited now by all this! :D

I was thinking it looks a bit dull, and then I saw the picture of it in daylight. It actually looks nice, bare but nice.

Lads is my eyesight on the way out or is there no Renault branding on that McLaren?

    Just the engine cover.

The deal is for engine supply, no title sponsorship, I believe?

Yeah you're right about the supply.

I just assumed as they were a supplier the Renault name would be on the engine cover and the Badge on the nose.

    Maybe i assumed wrong :o

I think for it to be on the nose its a different deal, like RB before they rebranded to TAG.

Alonso/Vettel/Hamilton/Verstappen in the top 4 battling for the lead, what a prospect that would be

I really hope Kimi Raikkonen can win a race this year, i have no doubt he will be jettisoned from Ferrari after this season regardless of what pull Vettel has.

Nice gallery here. I think it's my new favourite livery so far despite the bareness.

To me the car has a distinct lack of sponsorship. Either way I hope the car drastically improves this year

I'd say Zak Brown is hoping for a better year with more tv coverage to attract them, Dell and CNBC being from America, it's his home country so he may have contacts in higher companies provided McLaren get off the back of the grid.

They do have lots of small sponsors on the car. Just no big ones.

Sent the photo to my Dad there. He loves it. Says it has a retro vibe for him. Pity they didn't have the circle with the car number on the blank side :P

EDIT: Only noticed they have the number on the blue side, I do like the car, at first thought it was very bare but pictures of it on track have changed my mind.

This is actually a tricky conundrum. Which British team will finish higher in the constructor championship this year? Mclaren or Williams?
Mclaren looks underdeveloped and the engine is questionable but they have Alonso , Williams has a Mercedes Benz engine but has inexperienced drivers.

    This too shall pass.

Williams have had a Merc engine for a while, it didn't help them last year as they couldn't even get close to Force India. I think if McLaren have a reliable engine they will beat Williams. Williams have the weakest driver lineup on the grid

Didn't realise that the launch was on so early, so late to the party. It is screaming out for this title sponsor :D

Maybe they have done the deal and are just waiting till testing or the first race to have them on it. I have to say after all the hype about the orange Mclaren that I am disappointed with the Orange they choose for the car. Thought it would be brighter and stand out more like last years Force India did in its bright Pink.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

I think Dutch Gold would be a great title sponsor for McLaren. Dutch Gold McLaren Renault ;)

The McLaren livery looks lovely on track from the pictures and brief clip of Alonso pulling out of the garage. The lack of sponsors on the engine cover does take a lot away from it, it looks shockingly bare. The floor looks interesting.

The Ferrari also does look bare around the engine cover, not sure why they decided to ditch the tried and trusted Scuderia Ferrari on the engine cover.

I hope Red Bull decide to use the test livery for the season.

The Renault is probably my favourite livery so far (McLaren would be up there if it didn't look so bare)

This would be the nicest looking generation of cars for a long, long time (no stepped noses, correctly proportioned rear wings, no t-wings, minimal shark fins, chunky rear tires) if not for the unmentionable.

I don't see that car as having under developed aero.
With the strange floor towards the front and the very complex barge board setup well out in front of the side pods, it would appear that this car is doing more with the air in that area than most.

There's more than a hint of T-wing on that Ferrari. But it's there on the rear most end of that baby shark fin ðŸ˜

Gonna be following McLaren closely for Alonso. Hopefully there is progress with that engine and he's fighting towards sharp end of the grid. Even if Merc walk it again this year I'll be happy with an epic battle behind them.

I think McLaren could be in the battle for fourth place in the constructors championship alongside Force India and Renault this year.
