Ah. Glad that ones cleared up. Had me confused since Wednesday so it had.

If a crime was committed do you think they should ignore it?

Big If and yes they should ignore it like they ignore many other 'crimes'.

They should continue blowing into their breath testing equipment and recording false data. They are good at that.

Or maybe the useless fcekers should investigate how banks, that the taxpayer rescued, were systematically robbing 1000s of tracker mortgage holders.

That's only if they aren't too busy stitching up McCabe and the other honourable whistleblowers...illegally

    Does that answer your question?

If I was the young fellas mother I'd be gunning for the person that recorded that and shared it,what a rotten ,sneaky thing to do.It's ridiculous that as well as the usual warnings about drinking too much etc.on a night out we now have warn our kids that everything they do on a night out is probably recorded by some smart arse and if shared will always be associated with them in years to come...thank God this didn't happen years ago and I hope that many of the adults judging that young fella remember the things that they did on nights out and weren't unlucky enough for it to be public knowledge the next day.

I'd be disgusted if any of my kids were responsible for sharing that and while I'd feel like killing them if it were caught in the act like that I'd still feel sorry for them.....nothing worse than the snake that stands back in these situations and records it..a really horrible thing to do to someone else.

Agreed. Snowflakes getting outraged on social media and in the press is the story.
The GAA is run by conservative elites and well paid suits who hate to see anyone have fun. This kind of conservatism has also made its way into the views of prominent pundits who hate to see any kind of change or progress.

As for this only happening with GAA players, there's countless tales of soccer and rugby players doing worse.

    this

if this was a rugby gig, the only outrage would be the calibre of strippers/hookers contracted in. The alickadoos would have been horrified at exposing up and coming senior players to such poor fare. I've seen worse after a match, not necessarily worse "entertainers", but no d1ckh3ad saw fit to take photos

I think most of the "outrage" is purely affected, and being affected purely for mirth on the basis its the GAA involved. That "holier than thou" organization, purporting to be the final bastion of all that is pure , wholesome and the final repository of good Irish values, a place where the bishops and priests are awarded pride of place.
you can see it in some of the posts here, the victim mentality "they're out to get" the GAA. most people couldn't give a toss

If it was rugby they would've been male escorts.

I wouldn't. He made a mistake, but probably when he was very drunk and there wasn't anything malicious to others about it.

The cnut who recorded it was probably a lot more sober when he recorded it and more sober still when he uploaded/shared it.
And he almost certainly shared it with the intention to embarrass and shame.

I'd guess that whoever recorded/uploaded this is regretting it now. But he didnt seem to be the only person recording. maybe he sent the video to a mate/family member etc and they went viral with it. the reality of todays world I'm afraid.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,312 ✭✭✭Nettle Soup

Yes I see people accusing just 1 person of taking and sharing the video. I saw multiple people with phones out in one video. There were a number of different videos doing the rounds.

Agreed. The GAA is living in a 1950s timewarp or at least they expect the players to live in a 1950s timewarp. Thing is many of the 1950s players were pretty wild themselves, ended up alcoholics, left their wives, etc etc.

Todays players by comparison are in the main almost saint like.

GAA players are entitled to a private life especially as they are not professionals.

Some people think that EVERYTHING has to be recorded and uploaded/posted .. Thats the way the 'young kids' are now !
Id say they cudnt share it fast enough , all to get a few likes and thumbs up...
You cant delete it though .....

Bunch of young fellas got drunk, hired a few hookers and one lad got a blowjob.

All there on the night were adults so if this is what people want the shades to waste their time investigating it's a bit ridiculous.

Nearly reminds me of the oul wans saying the rosary outside Stringfellows nightclub years ago.

Someone should start a pole to see if prostitution should be legalized in Ireland now.

I'd say the ballyragget incident would sway it to yes.

Times are a changing me thinks.

I laughed tonight when I heard on the news that the Guards were investigating yet nobody made a complaint.

The idea of the local priest giving it fire and brimstone from the pulpit on Sunday is funny as non of the lads probably go to mass anyway.

Oh Ireland is changing for the better.

    ''Ballyboy 24th Oct '' '' a team player '' HA !

I'd be pretty skeptical of that myself.

Far be it from me to cast aspersions on the integrity of the Fourth Estate, but the newspapers are struggling for things to write about this 'story' as it is. Most people don't give a damn what these lads are doing in their private time, apart from taking the piss out of them, and I wouldn't be surprised if the Indo were just trying to generate a bit of a story, where there is none. Paper never refused ink.

If a law is broken do the guards need to wait for someone to make a complaint?

    If you are important, yes.

Then they’ll just ignore it anyway.

    Stephen Fry.

    Blasphemy.

No one complained hence they just dropped it.

You picked a bad week to come out with this, after the Gardaí and the DPP went to considerable, forensic & investigatory efforts to prosecute Tom Humphries of exploitation and defilement of a minor.

Wasn't there more than one recording? Don't you think the 'rat' was as drunk as the rest, thinking 'this is great craic. I must share it!'? I kind of feel sorry for him as the poor schmuck probably wanted to show everybody the lads were having such a great time and did not intend for any of the consequent uproar to happen.

What law are people talking about, it's can't be the hooker, we know that's not illegal, so what are we talking about, the guy who filmed it? Is he likely to be charged with ''revenge porn'' is that the phrase? A lot of people have done time for that.
