Please, please no. Aidan Walsh should not be anywhere near the hurling panel.

like I said earlier if Aidan Walsh is the standard for cork senior hurling they will never win an All Ireland again. Please just go away Aidan you are well past it and not at the standard required.

The fact Aidan Walsh made it 28 before dropping off the intercounty panels is quite an achievement, he's been burned out with two or three years easily now. The mileage that man has put up over the last 10 years is ridiculous. Guess it shows how poor the footballers are when a lad like Aidan is still fighting for his place. No offence to the man, very nice lad and a terrific player when he was younger. He did well with the footballers but I always felt he was a much more natural hurler. The hurlers weren't in a strong place at the time though whereas the footballers were so we'll never really know how good he could have been giving the hurling a proper go.

If that lad Conway was from Cork, he would be on the senior panel. A very talented hurler.

Class hurler, up there with the best for his age in Munster.
I remember a hurler called Conway that was a serious hurler for Kerry about 15 years ago, wonder is he a relation.

the only time I saw him play well was against Limerick in the u21 in 2011. Never saw him play that well again.

    Bit harsh on Walsh

The question we need to answer is Would he be better than any of Tim O’Mahony ,Dean Brosnan Robbie O’Flynn
Jack O’Connor Michael Cahalane Brian Lawton or Rob O’Shea on the bench?

    I would think he is

Brosnan, Lawton and O'Shea weren't deemed good enough to be brought on at any stage in the semi final

Going back to the semi final we needed somebody to win a puck out or alternatively stop Limerick winning clean possession and driving up the pitch

    Would Walsh help out there?

Strong rumours that Pa Cronin is to be brought back to the squad as well. Prob for the same reason as Walsh

It’d be a sad indictment of Cork hurling when you see Limerick bringing through the likes of Kyle Hayes and Cian Lynch and we’re going back to Aidan Walsh and Pa Cronin.

True but could they do a job off the bench?

I don't see either as a starter but we need a better panel next year

Limericks subs won them the semi final as they had good players to come off the bench

  • Registered Users Posts: 164 ✭✭richiepurgas

I think Pa Cronin is an honest hurler but not up to inter-county standard. Battles well, but needs half an acre to swing his hurley. Turnbull, if fully fit, a much better option.

Are you serious? Walsh and cronin aren't up to be good impact subs and I'm not being harsh here just stating the truth. Cork hurling going backwards if they have to go back and rely on those two players.

One SHC fixture this weekend, Ballymartle v Blackrock.

How do people see this game going?

Know little about Ballymartle, but the rockies have some very promising young lads in their side.

Would be very shocked if blackrock do not win comfortably enough

  • Registered Users Posts: 920 ✭✭✭Ron Burgundy II

As a neutral, it would be great if Blackrock won. Winners of this game to play the Barrs, which has the potential to be a very good game.

Blackrock have a better panel but Ballymartle have given them problems over the years. Word is there might be a couple injuries for Rockies.

I am seriously looking foward to both finals. We'll have a right cut off kk and should be there or there abouts and the ladies v Dublin coukd be a real cracker.

The ladies could just as easily cone away with 2 defeats as doing the double!!

    Intermediates at 2
    Seniors at 4.15

    Both on Network 2

Heading up to the camogie. Bringing herself and the 3 girls......I was given 4 tickets for hogan stand premium level....was wondering would I be able to get the youngest in without a ticket..she's 6..

Good first half for the intermediates. Playing against the breeze, they lead by 7 points to 5.
Cork forwards need to run at the goal more as they will get success by either scoring or being fouled, particularly Caroline Sugrue who missed her first 3 attempts before getting a fine score just before ht.
Saoirse McCarthy has a wonderful turn of pace, 3 fine points, just out of minor.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,063 ✭✭✭zetecescort

Cork intermediates 0-7 Down 0-5 HT. Down started well, led 0-5 to 0-2 at one point but Cork have come back and held Down scoreless for the final 15min of the half

    10 into the second half, 1-10 v 0-08
    Good running by cork fowards.

Very tough to get a second yellow for that.

Totally deserved win for the intermediates 1-13 v 0-09
Losing 3 finals in a row was an obvious motivation factor.

No way a second yellow - she turned. I don't think that it was for that - I reckon it is more for the mouthing off rather than anything else.

Delighted for Sarah Harrington and Niamh Ni Caoimhe, Leah Weste and the older girls - lot of heartache the previous few years, and I think Sarah and Niamh are off teaching abroad soon, so great to finally win it.

The lower hogan looks full on the tv.

Marty cork and Kilkenny are always rivals. The way he's talking the rivalry only started in 2016.

18 all Irelands is some achievement regardless of the code.
