Hurley was electric, if we can feed him ball next week and the backs have the game of their lives, we have half a chance.

What a win that is for Cork football. We mightn't do very well in the Super 8s, but after a woeful league performance, that is a well-needed boost.

At the very least it’s 3 extra games against top opposition for the manager to work on for the future. Well capable of winning two of them if attitude is right

I'd be over the moon with one win. Win division 3 next year and push for Munster.

Yes that's a great win. Much needed! 2-4 for Brian Hurley and 1-8 for Mark Collins.

A win for Cork also in the intermediate Camogie

    Cork 3-14 Dublin 0-06

With the win in the camogie seniors too, it was a great day for Cork!

Just seeing the final score and as others have said it's nice to see cork footballer showing signs of life again. After the league this year it was a case of "now what ?" and the answers weren't all that positive. At least we have something to build on.

Was at the game. 14 points flattered Laois. Cork were superb. Delighted for the players, they get a lot of stick from the media and the Cork public.

The ref played as 16th man for Cork. Dreadful stuff.

Thrilled with the scoreline. If ever a Cork team need it it's this one. They came to late in the league which saw us down to division 3 for the first time but this is exactly the response we wanted to see. A fine effort v Kerry and a thoroughly convincing win today.
Super8s and a further 3 games to add to their experience. Dublin game is probably a write off but the other 2 teams wont relish playing us.

What?? Laois should've had a red card in the first half. Absolutely blatant and the ref bottled it.

Buff Egan has highlights of the Cork/Laois game on his Snapchat if anyone's looking :)

Neutral who brought my Laois supporting Grandad.

Utterly ridiculous statement tbh. If anyone got a rub of the green from the ref it was Laois.

Great win, and and after a decent effort against Kerry, and qualifying for the super 8's, i think we can call this championship campaign a success.Realistically this is about as far as we can go.But Roscommon are beatable, and we can rattle Tyrones, and hopefully the Dubs cages as well. There's no pressure on us anyway.

i agree with this , stayed on to watch it after the hurling , the laois full back line made cork look like superstars at times, in the forwards only donie kingston looked like a threat , john o loughlin is a fine midfielder but too much was expected on his own

the worry i would have and its only minor given the nature of the game at the time cork did drop off for the last 15 minutes and quite badly too , granted they were miles ahead of laois but they were probably beaten in every aspect of the field ,

mark collins , brian hurley and ruairi deane were excellent , its a win that will bring huge confidence , and i expect to see cork compete well in the super 8s but today was a huge drop in class form that level

Think there's much chance of a package being put on for the two matches next week? €65 is fierce steep for two quarter finals

I was as pessimistic about footballers as anyone but am thrilled the progress team had made.

Next week could be tough watching but its been decent summer season now and no reason why Cork cant win 1 or 2 games.

How good is it to have Alan Cadogan back and playing like this?!

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,323 ✭✭✭Seadin

0-20 conceded to Weatmeath. Hope that won't cost us when we play better teams after today. Our forwards are good but our backs still have question marks.
