4Chan with another brilliant trolling social commentary

Far-right activists are using fake Twitter accounts and images of battered women to smear anti-fascist groups in the US, an online investigation has revealed.
The online campaign is using fake Antifa (an umbrella term for anti-fascist protestors) Twitter accounts to claim anti-fascists promote physically abusing women who support US President Donald Trump or white supremacy.

    http://www.bbc.com/news/blogs-trending-41036631

You know the narrative by now. Violence against women is terrible! But at the same time, punch a Nazi!

Now 4Chan has combined the two into a brilliant social commentary, by hijacking anti-domestic violence images to highlight the absurdity of supporting violence for political reasons. Naturally, the BBC are foaming at the mouth.

    https://twitter.com/hashtag/punchnazis?lang=en

    DH9v9kYXgAA1dHx.jpg:large

Either you support violence, and everything that goes with it. Including attacking women.
Or you abhor it, and completely disavow it.

    There are no 'special exceptions'.

So what is it, boardsies? Do we reject violence, or is it ok to turn the odd blind eye as long as the Nazi label is loosely thrown around first?

I abhor all types of violence, except punching Nazis. That's where the line is for me.

Not in favour of any violence unless it's in self defence or sometimes to teach an extremely violent person a lesson (e.g. someone terrorising their neighbourhood) and I really dislike this "Punch a nazi" thing for their beliefs alone. Talk about giving them ammunition. It is only going to make them more entrenched in their views, and could help them to recruit. It's quite dangerous really when considering the bigger picture.

    "4Chan"

    "Brilliant trolling social commentary"

    "Hijacking anti-domestic violence images"

    Yeah........that's a hard pass.

Say something about "SJWs", "cultural marxism", "feminazis" and "virtue signalling" though. That's always good for a laugh.

Here is how the Germans troll nazis, contrast with antifa who seem intent on creating more nazis

Creating Nazis? They haven't turned me into a Nazi, have they turned you into a Nazi?
I think if you're a Nazi because of antifa, you were probably a Nazi anyway and are just looking for an excuse.

Except the definition of Nazi seems to be anyone who disagrees with Antifa, or simply gets in the way. Here is a video of a peacemaker getting his skull smashed with a bike lock by an Antifa member. The mob has an us versus them mentality. And innocents or neutrals are considered targets too.

It's somewhat ironic that the best publicity the neo-Nazis and far-right get is from Antifa activists. I recall that when Identity Ireland were announcing their formation, some Antifa activists stormed the meeting and created a big scene that was irresistible click bait for the national media.

Identity Ireland couldn't believe their good luck. What would have been a mediocre non-event that would have passed as a few balding losers in a hotel conference room now became front page news and a priceless PR boost.

    Nice going, comrades.

Grand, but since the likes of Antifa define 'Nazi' as pretty much everybody that disagrees with them that's a whole lot of people to punch...

Is dog poo an acceptable alternative?

    https://www.theguardian.com/world/2017/aug/24/san-francisco-dog-poo-protest-patriot-prayer-rally
When a group of far-right activists come to San Francisco to hold a rally this Saturday, they will be met by peace activists offering them flowers to wear in their hair.

Also, dog ****. Lots and lots of dog ****.

Hundreds of San Franciscans plan to prepare Crissy Field, the picturesque beach in the shadow of the Golden Gate Bridge where rightwing protest group Patriot Prayer will gather, with a generous carpeting of excrement.

“I just had this image of alt-right people stomping around in the poop,” Tuffy Tuffington said of the epiphany he had while walking Bob and Chuck, his two Patterdale terriers, and trying to think of the best way to respond to rightwing extremists in the wake of Charlottesville. “It seemed like a little bit of civil disobedience where we didn’t have to engage with them face to face.”

Tuffington, a 45-year-old artist and designer, created a Facebook event page based on the concept, and the dog owners of San Francisco responded in droves. Many have declared their intention to stockpile their ****piles for days in advance, then deliver them in bags for the site.

    Maybe.

A more pertinent example for the US left/hard-left in how opposition can strengthen your opponents is the Reichstag fire, the ability to portray your opponents as dangerous and wanting to destroy the state is a blessing if you are looking to bring in authoritarian measures and delegitimize your opponents.

Violence to achieve political goals is a moral question, using violence in a way that ineffective to your goals is worse than amoral its stupid.

Indeed, taking some photos from an existing campaign, adding a slogan and an anti-fascist logo, then tweeting them from puppet accounts as if real...is not any kind of social commentary, it's idiots doing idiotic things to entertain themselves and other easily impressed idiots.

I'd be more than a bit annoyed if I was a battered woman who was then portrayed as being a nazi and in some way deserving of the battering, to be honest.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

It's honestly amazing to me how many people don't see this.

Also ridiculous that people constantly bring up WW2 as an example of when "violence stopped the Nazis".

People tend to forget the contribution the USSR made to defeating the Nazis. The Germans suffered 75% of their military losses fighting the Russians.

    Stalingrad. Kursk.

Instead we have to listen to this nonsense idea that the USA came swooping in to beat the Nazis because they are just such good and wonderful guys.

No. Racism and White Supremacy was RAMPANT in the USA in the 1940s but we need to brush that under the carpet when it suits us because they fought the Nazis.

Many Black Muslim men were imprisoned in the USA for refusing to fight in the war. That's right, there were black men in early 1940s America who were put in jail because they didn't want to get involved in violence with Nazis.

Nowadays if you don't agree with violence against so-called "Nazis" then that must mean you are a Nazi.

But there are people who do believe that women who are Nazis should be battered.

There are people who will falsely accuse others of being Nazis before battering them.

So how do people who would batter a woman because she is a "Nazi" differ from people who would batter a woman for other reasons?

    Violence is violence.

The entire punch a nazi campaign is a false flag http://www.bbc.com/news/blogs-trending-41036631

Why do you think they picked women for the pictures? It was to provoke an emotional response of sympathy for them. Similarly just showing the injuries which again gives sympathy to the injured party. If you actually wanted to create a campaign to promote violence you would show the targets in scenarios that make them seem deserving of violence, not as victims.

There was no social commentary here. Just a bad attempt at a smear campaign.

I know it was a fake campaign.

I thought the point the 4chan posts were making here is that despite all the campaigns condemning violence against women you have many people who are saying that violence against women is OK, so long as the woman is a Nazi.
