Should be entertaining anyhow. Fury in R8 for me.

    Can't wait for this....

Fury, if he boxes smart and clever should win, but if he gets tagged clean, who knows. Whyte has quite decent one shot power.

I'll be rooting for the shock KO win.

White has done well in promoting himself etc , but when you look at the cv its not great is it,,, arguably beating Parker on pts is his best moment something which Chisora arguably did in their 1st fight.

Fury unless he goes off the rails should have no issues , tbh was hoping the fight would not happen and we would get Fury v Ortiz instead.

Whyte is limited but you have to take him seriously just because he is big strong & a bit ignorant

He's a hard nights work .at stages you'll have to bite down on the mouth guard ,& you will get wet & frustrated at points ,

Fury should be to good, too big for him, to slick & clever

Whyte is going to try and pressure Fury & i think he'll be in for a surprised at how difficult it will be ,

I reckon late stoppage about 10 rounds ,

Can't see anything bar a late Fury stoppage. Whyte will be game but he won't have the tank to live with Fury's pace for 12 rounds.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,774 ✭✭✭ squinn2912

I think Fury will puck the head of him and break him down. It wouldn’t shock me to see the corner pull him out or him not meet the bell, and I think he’s a very game lad. I think he can be competitive in ways but the problem is that Fury is better than him in every way and has massive advantages in movement, height and reach. Whyte hasn’t won big fights with much authority against Chisora or Parker for instance. Trying to claim that POV was a big fight is just stupid, it was however important. I think Fury can choose to win a few ways here. There is the chance of a shock KO but I really can’t see that happening.

Fury vs Ortiz is an even worse mismatch by the way. Ortiz was very lucky Charles Martin didn’t end his career. He’s finished.

Fancy Fury to take it on points.

I agee with this. Whyte not that good at all, but big and punches hard enough, and won't be afraid to give it a go...

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,365 ✭✭✭✭ Cyrus

I dont think that whyte has improved since Joshua fought him and Joshua was out of his league, if Fury is properly motivated it should be a routine win for him.

Let's hope neither lads gets busted for drugs cheating again...!

  • Registered Users Posts: 793 ✭✭✭ Lion Killer

Just drop all drug testing requirements for the fight 😁

  • Registered Users Posts: 48,370 ✭✭✭✭ walshb

I wonder what weights the lads will come in at.......

Will Fury be aiming for size and weight and power, and in thinking this, maybe come in 275+

Or could he decide on sharpness and fleet feet and come in low 260s?

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,441 ✭✭✭✭ yourdeadwright

Word last time was with covid , injury , & the issues with his kid he in no way planned to come in at the weight he did but had no real other choice,

I'd expect him to be lighter this time and to be honest being more mobile against Whyte will suit him ,

Seems to be a great stretch of fights between now and the big one, Taylor-Serrano. This fight perfectly slotted in a week before.

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,441 ✭✭✭✭ yourdeadwright

I think Serrano wins that one but hoping im wrong ,

I see the bros. Klitschko are in Ukraine..

This war could derail Usyk’s plans to fight AJ. Usyk seems to be on the fight as well

Whyte must be the most ill advised boxer in the sport not turning up for a press conference with on of the hottest boxer's on the planet right now,

Literally costing himself bags of money for future bouts ,how can he not understand its a massive chance to get his name out there even more than when he fought AJ .

  • Registered Users Posts: 48,370 ✭✭✭✭ walshb

Maybe he is happy with the money he has, and the money he will make for this fight.....maybe he doesn't care too much about "making a name" for himself.

I don't think anyone gives a fook for the chap, really, (and that's not a pop at him, btw), and people won't change should he decide to do a few press conferences. He's still just Dillian Whyte.

Fury is expected to beat him handlily, so not sure future bouts post Fury do anyting for his name.....He'll simlply go back to being plain old Dillian Whyte; now, if he wins, then he can think of bigger bouts and bigger pay.

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,441 ✭✭✭✭ yourdeadwright

He obviously does care as the whole protest is over money ,

Nobody cares now but if he talks, a good game and goes to war with Fury without question he will get better pay days in future don't forget 600 grand was his last and highest pay day,

  • Registered Users Posts: 48,370 ✭✭✭✭ walshb

Yes, but this fight he is making a huge amount. Maybe he's very happy and doesn't give a fook about possibly making a name for himeslf

I just don' think anyone will care.......and nor will much change, unless he wins!!!!!

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,441 ✭✭✭✭ yourdeadwright

Fury pulling a clever one , stating this is his last fight and he will retire

Clear as day he is pulling this out because he is worried with no Whyte there & not explosive press conference it may be difficulty to shift 90 thousand tickets ,So pulling the aul this is the last chance you will ever get to see me, Good thinking on the spot form the big man,

Did anyone see the interaction between John Fury and Carl Frampton?

Apparently Carl's opinion on Tommy Fury v the YouTube fella (name escapes at the moment) didn't go down too well with Fury.

  • Registered Users Posts: 48,370 ✭✭✭✭ walshb

Read about it. Carl was just giving his opinion, one shared by many. YouTuber beats Tommy Fumbles.

the very reason Fumbles pulled out the fight is for what Carl was saying!

Most people hate Whyte for whatever reason but I've always liked him. His fights are typically entertaining if nothing else. He has a good left hook and good body work. If I was him I'd be going for the body like Wilder did and looking for that left hook. He certainly has some tools that could hurt Fury.

Fully expect a Fury win though. He has the size advantage, reach, more boxing ability etc. But I think it will be a bit trickier than people are saying.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,095 ✭✭✭ eeepaulo

According to this it's going to sell out multiple times over, assuming everyone buys average of 2-3 tickets.

Watching it unfold made me wonder if it came to blows who would win.

    The size difference looked comical.

Hey there's worse fights been sanctioned. 😁
