Martin Bakoles trainer Adam McCart is stll adamant Martin stopped him with a body shot in camp last year

Saying there is no doubt in his mind Fury will stop him

If there is a stoppage in the fight due to power/strength (and not a cut/injury), far more likely Fury gets the stoppage

Bakole has massive power but nobody wants to fight him sadly, it’s high risk low reward

Fury by liver shot ko 😁

Happy to see either win as long as they deserve it

Really hoping for Usyk to win and if he does I’d expect it to be medium on points not wide but not very close. There is a possibility Fury wont have the stamina and could get stopped late. Strong ref favours Usyk. Fury got away with an awful lot against Wilder but it is a fight not a dance. I expect Fury to get it done in 8.

Lot a speculation on Fury being in “awesome shape.” Wonder will his weight/shape translate to a better overall performance? Could be low 250s on scales..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,851 ✭✭✭✭blade1

yeah we should see a better performance this time 😁

Fury engine for man his size is incredible. Won't be an issue.

Its a strange aul fight because we all know how Usyk will fight

So the question is what does Fury do, Will he make the right decision on how to go about it, that is what makes or breaks the fight ofr him,

Does he try to just go stick it on him & chase him down or does he sit back & use his reach & try catch Usyk on his way in or way out, Fury is capable of fighting both ways but it'll be interesting to see which one works the best.

AJ had chances to get Usyk out of there but the thoughts of running out of gas scared him out of putting the foot down ,That's something Fury shouldn't have an issues with

I think it all depends on Fury's legs . are they gone or was Francis a one off ,

every boxing pundit and YouTube channel is talking about fury’s weight, you’d swear he was getting married not going into a scrap

He’s too light he’s too heavy depending on the pundit, nothing else to talk about I guess

can’t say that with such certainty he’s not fought at the type of pace Usyk usually imposes. In Wilder II he was blowing hard from round 3

Yep, Fury is in with a real boxing star that will be extremely difficult to beat across 12 rounds.

I’m going for an Usyk points win but with an early onslaught from Fury that will have him sucking on air by the end of 4th.

Ya I've made that point before too. He fought a hard pace that night and you could really see it on him and that's a long time ago now.

No way he would have been able to keet it up without slowing considerably had the fight gone longer.

Since then all his fights have been a much more steady pace. The third fight was frantic is spurts but not a sustained pace. The other fights have been very slow and steady with little to no credible opposition either.

Even though I'm slightly favouring Fury, the draw is quite possible

    Fight week!

I'm a massive massive Fury fan through the years but your only as good as your last fight so i think Usyk gets it done on points , A year or 2 ago i'd have picked Fury all day every day & twice on a Sunday

I just can't overlook how poor Furys legs & feet looked against Francis, I can't recall anyone's legs looking shot & them getting them back,

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,681 ✭✭✭Dick phelan

Anyone know if there's anywhere in Waterford showing the fight?. I'll be out for my 30th birthday on Saturday so won't be at home for it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 59,104 ✭✭✭✭walshb

Did you change over last few days? Did I not see you pick Fury via stoppage, and you had no doubt?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,953 ✭✭✭✭yourdeadwright

    I did,

I had always thought Fury would beat him by stoppage , I rewatched the Francis fight & after few conversations around the gym & trying to remember anyone coming back from looking so bad on there legs & i couldn't recall one, Furys feet where shocking in that fight,

So the sensible take is that Fury will be similar if not the same, If his legs are truly gone Usyk is the worst style match up ,

I think Prime Fury stops him but on last evidence we have he is no longer that,

Boxing is not like Football to me , as in i don't support anyone or blindly pick someone to win because i like them ,Its about looking at the attributes & trying to pick who you think has the better tools to win , At this moment in time i'll go Usyk on the score cards,

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,421 ✭✭✭✭OmegaGene

I will go for fury but I haven’t a clue how he gets it, he is such a wild card he doesn’t know himself how he’s going to fight and Usyk said the other day he’s not planning anything either and will see how fury fights

For a fella that doesn’t speak English Usyk is very good all of a sudden, I suspect he’s been told by the Saudi crew he has to give interviews in English

One most difficult fights to call. Anyone overly confident of an Usyk win is way off. I think Usyk wins, but not a chance I'd lay any serious money on it. I can understand folks being more confident in picking Fury due to his size, weight, reach and boxing IQ. Intriguing fight, and as mentioned, a draw a real possibility.

'I'll fight anyman'* john fury got a slap or headbutt

on youtube saying a headbutt at the moment
